I popped the top off the the stock airbox to gain access to the airfilter. Thats when I noticed another filter attached to the top of the lid. It looks like some kind of carbon filer, maybe part of the emission system, but it sure looks restrictive to me. Has anybody tried to remove this yet?

 

I tried earlier today actually.. i was able to pry a flathead around the edges of it.. so i could tell it would pop off.. but i did not continue to pop it out. I'm thinking there has to be an easier way to get it out that prying it.. so im holding off before i break it haha
