does anybody else have a problem with their sunroof rattling when open? is there a tsb on this?

 

mine rattles when it's open only when I go over bumpy roads. But I think thats normal.

 

can't say my sunroof rattles but sometime it wont close...it gets like 3/4 of the way then stops and opens again. its real annoying..i have to hold down the wind deflector then is closes. u might have somethin loose if its rattling...

 

I dont know what you little boys expect. You go and buy a $16,000 car and then you expect quality too?

If you want quality go buy a real toyota not some cheap undercut grade SCION

 

I also have a rattle when its open and going over bumpy roads its an 07 so i will find out what it is and post the answer...... so till then dont know YYYY...

 

mine rattles/flexes when just barely propped open (so it isnt in the fully open/retracted position at all). i generally drive with it in that position 95% of the time. it is a bit annoying, but i'm not sure if anything can be done to fix it.

the hatch rattle and the little squeek in the center console don't bother me but the sunroof rattle does. i can hear it even with my music is goin pretty good.

 

yea my sunroof is starting to rattle to the point I dont keep it open. The dealer claimed that it was just air flow getting under it and there is a tbs for it, but clearly when I hit bumps is when it rattles so when i go in for my next oil change i will ask them to check it out again. anyone with a fix or solution yet?

 

Having had my xA for 2 years this was one of the things "Rattles" which I am worried about. The xA is the rattle king . So this is my main concern when I was first eying on the 06 tC then the 07 which was unchanged. Got the 08 finally. the only rattle was with the wind deflector when open or up. on real bumpy roads. No rattles anywhere as of the moment crossing my fingers . But on the sunroof part right where the wind deflector and the sunroof meets the put a thicker rubber lining to prevent it from rattling much when closed ( I heard some people have their sunroofs rattle or rub with the wind deflector when they are closed ) But if the sunroof itself is rattling when open even on a good paved road. There is something loose with it try tightening it I guess thats what my friend did.

 

Mines in the shop for this exact issue as we speak!!! As well as for the hatch, they ordered parts against the TSB for the hatch but they said it didn't work, so they are going to keep searching so I will post any updates.

i hate the rattle, to me tho the sound actually sounds more like a plastic squeak (i guess u can explain it that way)....im bout to take some wd-40 to that _____ casue it sounds like its just the track that the roof slides up on....has nebody fixed theirs yet?

 

My 07 rattles but only when I go over a pot hole or man hole cover.
