Default Sunroof Rattles

First of all, I already search the whole forum and still couldn't find the rattle I experience...

and i just brought it to the dealer to look at it ytd, and the feedback was no abnormal rattles found...

i told them that i know rattling in tc is very common however, i think the rattle is significant enough to call it abnormal this time...

still no respone from them, so maybe someone here can help me out

here is my problem...

when my sunroof is open, it just rattles like hell. i am sure the rattle is coming from the middle sunroof (the one that actually slice back and for) because the further it goes, the louder the rattle is. and when it is halfly closed (close to a point that the wind deflector is still up), the rattle is all gone...

anyone has this experience and know how to fix it? cos it just become worse day after day since i bought it, now it is like going to fall apart...

thx in advance~~

ps: i have a 06 tc which was produced in May 2005

Its nothing to worry about. I have the same rattle. Whenever your sunroof is open, reach up and you'll feel a plastic piece all the way to the left under the wind deflector and theres one over on the right too. they both rattle.

Its most likely just the air rattling it. With how the sunroofs designed you almost have to expect it rattle since its totally out in the open and theres nothing keeping it stable up there. Thats why its not a smart idea to have it open on the freeway because it could rattle sooo violently it could cause some damage.

i think you are right, so it is totally not about the glass roof and therefore ot wont fall apart...

but still anyone knows how to fix the plastic-piece-rattle?

I would say yes and no, mine is rattling now as well. But it has just actually started a few months back and I have my car for about a year and a half now.

I had the same issue. The dealer said there was a TSB on the sunroof frame (I think) and did the repairs, now it's fine.

I also had a squeeking sound coming from the back of my car; I thought it was the rear suspension, turns out it is the rubber stoppers in the trunk. There is a TSB on that too so it was repaired at the same time.

they replaced the new rubber things back in the trunk that the tech believed causing rattles. The problem is on TSB also. But still. I'm so embarassed when someone sitting in the car now .. sigh ..
