I wondered about that too, but found that they placed it in just the right spot. I too like it better than the buttons on the wheel cause it is always where I can find it easilly.

Haha, thanks engifineer. It is nice not having to go to work today.

By the way, my little sister drives a Saturn and loves it. I have driven it a couple of times and while I am spoiled by my tC, it seems like a pretty nice car. Like you said, the cruise is really smooth and it is a very nice riding car. Saturns are a decent car.

actually, i never said cruise control was a NEW luxury. I simply said that the tc's system is nice and IMO the best feature on the TC (since that what this thread and Forum are about).

YOU're the one who jumped in to "correct" me with your "actually, its not that special, its been around forever, no big deal, had the SAME thing in my saturn..etc, etc.."

I've driven cars with cruise control, Dodge caravan (my North philly Girard st. racing vehicle) Lincoln Continental (nice system as well), 2 or 3 corolla's, and a Chrysler Concorde...all automatics. My first true love, the 93 protege manual tranny didn't have Cruise Control. So for me (and other former 93 protege owners) the tc's system IS a big step up and a nice luxury.

I seem to remember seeing a lexus commercial or segment on AutomotiveVision.Tv about the 2006 IS and GS series cars using a CC system which when described seemed to ME to be the exact same as the one in my tc. All i know, if its good enough for a lexus, its good enough for me.

^^ Yeah, they are a point A to B car, and do it well. The plastic is nice in the salt covered winters here

The trick now is that you DO have to go to work tomorrow :D

Honda, Dodge, and Ford. Probably a few others as well...

My girlfriend can't stand the mini-joystick either. I love it though. I don't miss the buttons on the wheel, and I've been impressed by how pressure-sensitive the Toyota 'joystick' is.

Now, if only someone could figure out a mod to hook it up to a console joystick, mount it on the center console, and use that as cruise control, we'd be in buisness.

Well i know i didn't have it on my 93 mazda protege 5 speed. So its a BIG step up for me.

Makes hi way driving so effortless. ofcourse, you have to downshift to 4 to blow away honda boys every once in a while too.
im guessing since you didn't have cruise on your protege, it was a dx. if it was an lx, you should have kept that thing, the lx motors were super advanced for their time, and handle boost unlike most other economy cars. i love the BG (90-94) proteges, currently building up my turbo sleeper track beast as we speak.

Cruise control is all but a waste in the New York/Long Island area unless it's 3AM.

Just did a long trip and the cruise does work flawlessly. But comparing it to the Lexus is a bad idea, because comparitively to price, the lexus's cruise SUCKS (when comparin git to its class). The BMW (same class as lexus) has the Cruise control with active driving to maintain a safe following distance then speed back up once the lane is clear.

So yes the tC cruise is as good as a Lexus Cruise control. But that is very sad for Lexus.
