Completely irrelivent, but, what would you all do if there weren't a track within hundreds of miles of you? I'm still looking.

people in general take life for granted and invest in petty things, cheap thrills

pointing your finger at this one girl isn't going to change the world

people take all the technological conveniences and forget where the life is in all of that...

^^ Very true..

As for there not being a track with in hundreds of miles than there is only 1 simple solution DONT RACE !!! Simple.
Just because there is no track to legally race on doesnt give people permission to illegally street race.

^^ditto^^

"There's no track nearby." That is just an excuse that's used. These people would still be street racing, because they don't have the sense to realize that doing it on public roads is really stupid and careless. If you want to race then petition to close off a road that isn't used, BUT do it legally. Do it like once a month, as I said though do it legally ask the police what steps to go through. Basically if you can't do race the right way, don't other to do it at all. Racing is dangerous even when it's isolated and controlled, so when there traffic and others not involved that's where the problem lies.

Except that so far there has been absolutely nothing in the reports I've seen that gives any indication that the owner was the person seen driving this vehicle...

I'm sure that one of the authorities very first stops was at the owner's home. We do not know enough to comment at this point.

Latest report:

Police searching for suspect in fatal hit-and-run
03:52 PM CST on Saturday, February 17, 2007
By Jeff McShan / 11 News

Police are searching for a driver they say hit and killed a woman waiting for a bus.

The incident occurred Friday night on Hempstead Highway at North Post Oak in Northwest Houston.

Police say a female driver was racing another vehicle when she lost control, jumped the sidewalk and plowed into the woman who was waiting at a Metro bus stop.

According to police, the woman then raced over to a sports bar and fled in another vehicle with a man.

That vehicle is described as a red Subaru with license plate number 007-GLX.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call HPD's Hit-and-Run Unit at 713-247-4065.

Yuppers, not only because they aided her but also as obstruction of justice (something like that) by not telling who did it.

Oh yeah, technically, now thanks to HIS stupidity, he is what they call a accessory to the crime.... so he will be guilty.

Depends on what the Suby driver knew (or claims to have known) at the time. It is possible that the other driver did not know at the time that the tC driver had just killed someone, and simply gave a friend/acquaintance a ride 'cause her car broke or whatever.

However, once the Suby driver knows enough to put two and two together and come up with anything between three and five, their best move would be to call the hotline number, or even 911 and give whatever info they have - and claim they didn't know of the death at the time they gave the ride.

If they don't do that, and are found, they can be in deep, uh, poo.

True Tom True! I guess if he did call and claim he didn't know that it would clear things up with him also ... what a sticky situation to be in!
