But what does that have to do with this situation?

Its a brand new car with temporary tags. No where does it say there were parts from ebay. This is deffinetly not a situation to make jokes about. ITS A CAR ON FIRE. PEOPLE COULD HAVE DIED.

^^^Some '06 Altimas and Sentras with the 2.5s are catching on fire cause of excessive overheating. This is due to the engine burning oil too fast cause of cheap piston rings. Call any Nissan dealership and they will tell you...

Haha, good ole Fark.

Some of them are pretty good, althought some clown thought it was a Hyunda Elantra... wtf? But that "Next time don't park so damn close" with the old lady, thats good.

But, as with everyone else, I'd also like to know what happened.

If I had to bet I would say that he just had an amp installed or some aftermarket wiring done. A lot of car fires I see are from people screwing up wiring it doesn't take much of a chort to start a car fire. other than wiring usually only old poorly maintained cars catch fire.

usualy when people die, they arent able to pull over to the shoulder and get out. and fires that big dont start that big, there is a build up process.. if they let it smoke long enough and didnt pull over at the first sight of smoke, then they are lacking common sense.. just like when we watched some lady run over a matress, drag it for 6 miles, not looking at everyone waving and honking, car starts on fire, dosent pull over till the flames are big enough to see......

id be differnt if the car was smashed from a t-bone and was obvious no one could escape.. but this is like "oh its smoking so i'll pull over" and then get out and watch it burn.. since no one died, i personaly dont think there is anything wrong w/ any comments what so ever.. yeah it sucks your car is up in flames, but sue the person that left the rag chillin in the engine bay or circuit city for not fusing the amp...

OK, I just sat here and read 9 pages of nothing...

As a dealer and employee of Scion I was hoping to gain some insight into what the issue was here. All I learned was...

1. The picture is not photoshopped.
2. A tC was on fire.
3. People will post with nothing usefull to add.
4. A 9 page thread doesn't have to contain any actual information.

So, Joe, being a "dealer and employee of Scion" why don't you just find out for us?

Just jerking your chain, Joe, but any light you could shed would be appreciated...

Sorry, I wasnt trying to be Mr. Cranky. I just expected to find some real information when the thread was 9 pages long.

I would love to find out what happened but I'm pretty sure the only people with that info are the former owner and the dealership who apparantly is aware of the incident. This isnt something Scion Corp. would know anything about...
