Default tC Moon roof flopping when opened..

I just wanted to know if anyone else has this issue. When my moon roof is open and I'm going down the road the moon roof panel itself flops
(does this at speeds as low as 35mph) in wind...is this normal? I'm not sure if its loose or what. Please any responses welcomed!

Thanks in advance!

edit: nvm i misread, yea the plastic is flimsy so the wind blowing in is going to cause it to flop, i think if you pull back the one for the back the problem is gone

if your talking about the plastic shade cover, then yeah, it will always flop around in the wind. but the top glass piece when moved all the way back will flop around a bit for me. it's flimsy so i just never have my sunroof open.

I've had the glass rattle with the roof open rarely on some bumpy roads. For the plastic shade in the rear, pull that to the center to see through the rear glass, no shade to catch air.

Thanks to the ones of you willing to spend your two seconds posting comments to me. that's one thing that bothers me bout people on here, there will be 150 posts to a topic, but only 5 or 6 comments made to try & help the issue at hand. Anyways, I'm not talking about the shade cover, I'm talking about the moon roof glass itself. When I have the glass (moon roof itself) opened the glass is kinda flopping up & down as the wind passes through it. I see why it may flop because when opened the glass has no support at the back. My concern is with it flopping like that is this going to cause the moon roof glass to become un-adjusted. I'm afraid that piece of glass that opens is going to get off center from blowing around in the wind so much. I'm sure that I could take it to the dealership for that & they'd say nothing was wrong & I know I can just keep my moon roof closed that is one of the many reasons I myself like the tC Scion so much. I just wanted to see if others like you were having this happen with your moon roof glass as well.

Thanks again for your comments!

Well take it to the dealer so that they have a record of you stating that there is an issue with your sun roof. Then if it does break you have proof that you thought something was wrong but the dealer did nothing.

I have an 2009 and that thing rattles around like crazy. IDK what to do about it, but I did buy the car for it so I am going to use it.

I believe it says in the owners manual not to drive with the sunroof open above speeds of 45mph? I haven't read mine in awhile but I think I remember readings something about not having it open above a certain speed. It kind of makes sense.

that was debunked a while ago, owner's manual says no such thing.

It's perfectly normal. I drive with mine open at highway speeds since I got it in feb 05. Overtime like last week I had to reset the window motor to tighten it up, but nothing broke. My car rattles but no more then some audi's I have been in.

The only thing it says in the manual about driving with the moonroof open is to keep it in the next to last position while at speed. So there's the vented open position, then the next stop is about 3" shy of fully open. Then there's fully open. You should NOT be driving with it "fully" open on the highway at the least. But in town it might flex more as well as slower speeds.

Trust me on this.... I actually did read the manual about it. I rarely drive with mine completely open.

yeah, the manual says that when it is fully open, it can suffer from "wind throb" if i remember correctly, so just don't drive with it fully open.
