hey guys... i know TC's are pure price... but is it possible to "negotiate" with the dealer, when you add in more factory options to the car?

hmmmm....how do i say this? My respond after this is "YES, I'm LYING" (so dont ask me anything)

Its true that you cant argue the price, but some dealers, not just in tx) have given extras, but I dont mind I didnt get any. They are doing their job!

I negotiated a few of my extras, like the alarm. Since I could get the same one at best buy or somewhere for about 450 to 500 I told them I would get one there so they gave me the one I wanted for that price. Originally the aftermarket I got was supposed to run 780 or something like that from dealer.

any dealership options (window tinting, leather, AFTERMARKET alarms) might be able to be negotited. Anything offered from Scion isn't negotiable (all the actual Scion acc.)

The first salesman we talked to offered us a free lip spoiler. When we went back to do the deal a week or so later, he was gone. (maybe he gave away too much...)
I don't mind paying for extras when I know I got a good deal on a great car to begin with...

Taken from Scion's website:
"Here's how it's done: Scion's Pure Price purchase experience means no haggle, no hassle. The price you pay for all products and services offered equals the dealership's posted and advertised price. Price menus are clearly posted in the dealership showroom for all products and services. Dealers are free to set their own prices."

Note the 2nd and last sentences. Dealership determines pricing, not Toyota Motor Corporation. So hopefully you can find a dealership and a salesperson/sales manager who want to be flexible (which I doubt).

My dealership had a huge sign saying Pure Price mean "paying the dealers published price." The dealerships I spoke with were all firm about the car's pricing. The dealer I bought the car from gave me free Sirius (equipment and 9 month subscription), and their parts dept. was selling the cargo net for $35 (Scion.com has it for $49).

Regarding parts, Scion.com writes "MSRP pricing for CA. Pricing my vary by dealer."

True the dealership sets the price, but most of America is selling for the same prices. No we are not allowed to give away accesories or negotiate the price on a per customer basis. We can set the prices at what we want, but we must charge all buyers the same as our posted price.
P.S. the scion security costs $469 for the TC and XB...$499 for the XA, no where near $700-$800 dollars, so them selling you, (cubaricantc) the alarm at $500 wasn't a "deal"...sorry
