Default tC tire sensor_reset

I couldn't locate the thread...so I kindly ask if anyone knows how I am suppose to reset the tire pressure sensor.

AFter installing my 19" rims... the tire sensor light has come on. I read the owner's manual and reset it. But after 10 miles or so... the light will come back on. I know it has to do with the fact I'm now running 19" rims. Does anyone know how to recalibrate or fully reset the tire pressure sensor on the tC?

thx in advance for your help.

hey.. yeah you have to do it when the tires are cold.. you press and hold the button (in the glove box) for 3-5 seconds.. i think.. the manual talks about it.. but then the light will flash three times on the dash.. then it's calibrated.. that should work.. oh and make sure you're running the right air pressures.. someone else on here should know what the 19" tires should be running.. i think it would be more pressure than the 17" ones.. but i don't know how much..

the manual has it in more detail but that's the basics.. .. and the 19" wheels shouldn't have set it off, since the diameter didn't change that much (not over 10% diameter change).. but let us know how it goes

I've been having the same problem.. After installing my new wheels yesterday, the light came on, so I decided to stop and reset it, but it came on again the today like four times. It's my weekend off so there's also no way that I can ask a Scion Tech.

Please post if you find out how to do this.. Thanks! :D

Maybe try to unplug the battery from the car for a little while, maybe its something in the ECU that needs to be reset?

jus let all the air out and fill them back up. turn on your car, and if its stil there reset it.

turn off your car then turn back on. reset 1 more time if nesscessary. if this doesnt work, contact your nearest scion dealer for more info.

hahah sorry but i did this and it worked fine. sometimes that dam thing lies to me. saying my pressure was uneven or flat but wen i chekd it. perfect all the way around.

always carry a tire pressure gauge in my car. i do!

that is definitely strange.. yeah I haven't run anything but the stock.. and keep forgetting to hit that button when cold.. since i changed tires, but they are close to the same diameter as stock.. i think 0.1 of a difference..

K ... this is a secret... but i've figured it out..hehe.

In order to recalibrate to 19" rims... do this.

1) Turn ur engine on
2) set the E-Brake (pull up)
3) press and hold the tire "reset" button in the glove box
a) the tire pressure sensor light should blink 3 times consecutively

** this is the important part
4) u must drive the vehicle for about 10 miles or so without turning off the engine. This will recalibrate the tire pressure sensor.

It worked for me...

Good Luck
