Default tC or WRX

Well....I'm still waiting for my tC to get here and I'm getting antsy.
Been looking at other options and I have always liked the WRXs.
If I'm lucky I can find a WRX with low miles that still has warranty around $18k.

Some hightlights between the two.

tC
$17k Brand new
Not too common so I can be "unique"
Panorama moonroof
3yrs/36k miles warranty

WRX
Momo steering wheel and shift ****
Turbo with 227hp and can easily upgraded to 300hp
All wheel drive traction

Give me more reason to stick with the tC!!!

No sunroof on the WRX until this year, and good luck getting one even new

Before I got the tC I looked at two cars- The WRX and the RSX-S

The tC is a better car

The WRX is getting redesigned

Getting to 300hp is easy, but you will keep buying more stuff.

Girls do not like the WRX

Unless you don't like the look of the WRX, It would be nuts to pass that car up. Handles better and is quicker. Not sure if you care for those 2 things. If not get the tC but the WRX is a great car.

I like the WRX from what I've seen and heard of it. I've seen some neat ones.

As to girls liking it... who cares? I have yet to hear a girl say "I really think the bug is cute, but guys don't like it."

However, I'm a sucker for a new car. I tend to be very particular with my stuff (OCD), and it would bug me to know someone else owned the car and probably wasn't the same way with it.

you've seen WRXs driven around. Would you want to buy any of them? Any that I see are usually doing double the speed limit and drifting around corners. If you can find a "gently used" one, go for it, but I'd personally probably avoid ever buying a used sports car.

Haha true dante, most ride em pretty hard. Also, it's important to note the regular WRX's, at least the used ones, have big tranny issues because the stock transaxle's can't handle the power output. They beefed it up in the STi but I do believe regular wrx's have a problem still.

i've read other boards, WRX owners constantly complain about the mushy suspension. it isn't really built to handle the 230 hp properly, they say.

also remember that any slightly used wrx is going to be ragged out by an "enthusiast," then traded back in because of high payments/insurance.

I'd personally opt for a Aspen White WRX, but that's because I've wanted a Impreza since the GC8 and I'm not the biggest fan of the tC...

I rike the WRX a rot :D scrooby dooby doo!

get a new TC, the money you save in insurance you can use to buy a turbo or SC. then add some springs and sway bar.

if u want pure performance, go with the WRX. No question about that. Even if you invest the money you'd save on insurance into performance mods for the tC, you'd still be limited by the fact that its a FWD car thats not designed to handle forced induction.

on the other hand, if you care at all about style and curb appeal, or features (the WRX's stock sound deck doesnt even compare to the tC's) then go with the tc.

Someone told me that the insurance is actually low because it is called an Impreza and has four doors. I will need to check with my Insurance co. though to make sure.

Yes, there are tranny issues. There's even a recall

I know someone that just got a WRX....he said that he hardly got any looks from girls when on his motorcycle, when he got the WRX he drove by a high school and all the girls were checking him out. LOL high school girls...

I would pick the tC. Don't get me wrong the WRX is a nice car but like other people said used ones are beat down, you can get a supercharger and suspension set up for a new tCand have money left over vs. a new wrx plus here is some reality, it would be fun to have a 300+hp car but unless you autocross on the weekends when will you need that for your morning drive to work, plus if you bump a wrx to 300 hp say good by to your warranty.
