^^ Actually, the Throttle Position Sensor is under the Emissions warranty- That's a 3year or 36,000 miles warranty, whichever comes first.

You can't just lemon anything. It has to be hazardous to the car of the driver. Something like the A/C won't do it.

Emmisions control warranty is the longer warranty so if it falls under emissions, he is covered for sure.

Manufacturers may periodically offer additional coverage as a purchase incentive. There offers are not reflected on this chart. The federal government requires two other warranties. The Exhaust Emission Warranty covers corrosion-related parts for 2 years/24,000 miles, plus 8 years/80,000 miles on the catalytic converter and any on-board diagnostic device. The Passenger Restraint Warranty covers seat belts and airbags for 5 years/50,000 miles.
IF the TPS falls under the emissions warranty, it would be for diagnostic parts. I am not completely sure that it falls under the emissions warranty though.

The 36,000 mile warranty is bumper to bumper (so front end parts, dash components, interrior, body defects, etc).

Throttle body and Throttle Position Sensor are under the Federal Emissions warranty. This warranty is a 3yr/ 36000 mile warranty. The CALIFORNIA Emission warranty is 3 years or 50,000 miles. However, I see that he lives in FL, and the only states that have adopted the CA Emission warranty provisions are Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.

(I work for Scion, trust me I'm reading it straight from our warranty book that lists the individual components)
