Keeping low rpm's helps you form slipping. I start out in 1st usaually the put it to second pretty fast to let the low rpms pull me through. keep it under 30 if yuor know you have to stop soon. using the breaks should be ok if u come to a stop slowly. Try going to an open parking lot with snow in it and practice turning breaking or e-braking (for fun) if you wanna get used to it. slower the better.. if your trying to stop or turn try and stay off the break.. you'll just end up sliding.

Snow tires ftw. Just go slow on both gas and clutch and you'll be good.

old trick too slowly pump the break when slowing down.. if u fish tail turn ur wheel toward the side ur rear is fishin if u ever start slipping DO NOT slam on the breaks remain calm and pump them locking them up will only cause u to slide out of control

Driving in the snow is easy, you just need to know the traction limitations of your tires while accelerating and how to slow down without using the brakes. The biggest mistake people make, is trying to use the brakes around a turn. Also, avoid jerky movements, slamming on the brakes or cutting the wheel will just result in sliding in a straight line, not slowing down and not avoiding an obstacle. Use your engine to slow down. Keep it under 2500-3000 for accelerating and keep it around 3000-3500 for deceleration.

Find a parking lot covered in snow and ice and just have some fun. Learn the cars traction limits and get used to having to correct over/understeer.
