Scion tc will hit top speed of 150mph around at 6200rpm(redline), you will lose power right at that spot. which i have done over the weekend for testing the power.
150MPH at Redline with turbo setup
120MPH at redline with stock ( hard to keep going as stock)

It doesnt matter if you add 18 turbos and a JDM fuel cap, your car WILL NOT have a higher speed at 6200 RPMS than a stock tC. Even if you use a EMS to cut the speed limiter and rev limiter, the speed at a given RPM WILL NOT change.
Math says this, not anyone with knowledge of cars. Horspower does not increase gear ratios.
So quit lieing and if you do lie, try and make it believeable. (our speedos dont read 150 MPH)
127 is the limit, anyone saying anything more is LIEing, or has used the emanage to get rid of the revlimiter.
the revlimiter isnt the same for all tC'S. The top speed set for the revlimiter is done mainly because of the speeds the tires can handle. If you bought a car with ____ty tired from one dealership, and the same car with better tires from another, the one what better tires will have the revlimiter set higher. This has been confirmed by multiple dealerships.
And as for the top speed being 127, ive gotten mine goin 135, all it has is the trd lowering springs and trd exhaust, its a manual which will make a difference, but yeh, just thought i would add my input

So you are trying to tell us, that the dealership goes into the ECu and sets each tCs rev limiter based on the type of tires they put on the car?
Thats almost as crazy as people saying they go 150mph in their tC.
The module to mess with the tC ecu costs $500, when you get a supercharger put in they have to buy the mudule/harness. If they set the ECU's revlimiter to every tC, every Scion dealership would have this module/harness. yet everyone with a supercharger who got it back when the super was new, had to wait for their dealer to get the proper tool to mess with thte ECU.

wow.....i have never heard a bigger load of crap in my life....
the tc stops at 127..been there done that.....it doesnt go any higher, like my truck stopped at 93.....it hit 94 according to the speedo, but it shut the engine"off" at 93
all tc's came with z-rated tires......z-rated tires go to 149MPH minimum.....
so why would mine be different from yours, when it came with the bridgestone potenzas(which were $h!tty tires)from the factory, like many (actually most i believe) tc's did as well
oh thats right.....you got the SUPER ULTRA FAST DELUXE FREE UPGRADE to your tc didnt ya....where they raise the limiter to 135, but a v8, and twin-turbo it right??
Must just be the TRD exhaust..................tCs with Toyota Racing Deveopment parts are much faster than stock tCs.............didn't everyone know that?
127 unless you have emange, internals or another car.

if scion would make the tC a 6-speed we could reach speeds of 150+mph. But they don't! so stop lieing people. And yes, turbos and other mods make your car faster by giving you more hp, they don't increase your top speed....duh
.
I admit, I to hope scion makes a 6-speed tC.
but I don't think they have announced that they will be making any soon.

Its funny how defensive every body gets on here when people say they get over 127 mph. With as smart as most of you people are on here, it's so funny how none of you can believe that it's possible to pass 127!!! Ok Jack, the governor kicks in when the Speedometer hits 127. Not when the car actually reaches 127. It uses an equation of RPMs to gear ratio and wheel diameter. Lets say the TOTAL diameter of the stock wheels and tires is 25 inches, then add bigger rims and tires, as big as will fit!! without reprogramming the computer (maybe 30 inches, just for ***** and giggles). Now when the car speedometer thinks it's going 127, it may actually be going 135 + mph. Simple physics. The only way to tell the true speed you are travelling is by GPS as ishb3w stated. IT IS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE TO PASS 127 W/O A MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. Not on the speedo, but in real time. Without a turbo or some type of extra ponies it might be very hard or you might have to be going downhill, but it is possible
but there lies the downfall..the speedo never goes aboce 127....only way to know would be a GPS thing, although how many ppl really have that
its not being super defensive, just not taking any BS being feed to me...

see i dont know anyone with a GPS system....henceforth its"unknown" to me essentially
as for going over 127..yeah it is possibly, because i drive a truck on the side, it has oversized tires.so nly about 5MPH off at 60, but my friends is about 15 off at 60.....makes the interstate interesting lol...
ok i agree mine will hit 125 no prob bone stock but what ____es me off is i bought a new 06 tc and it goes 125-ish but my 93 2.0 golf has no prob doin 130 to 135 with an intake and exhaust and my friends vr6 jetta forget it that thing will hit 150 to 160 if you got enough room i think you ppl are 2 used to these small mph numbers go get a gti then come see me
well if i wanted to go 160 i wouldnt buy a gti lol. my dream car is the 03/04 cobra but couldnt get a cosign for it so i settled for the tc. its probly for the best given my driving style, id be dead by now if i had a cobra lol

mmmkay
Why not get a ZO6 and and go 186mph, or a Porsche turbo and go 206mph, I'm pretty sure those cars will reach their top speed faster than that gti and in a shorter distance. Or why not go fast and stop fast like an Ultima GTR and Ariel Atom with their record holding of 0-100-0 in 10seconds.
What I am trying to get to is that anyone can go fast, if you bought a fast car you go fast. If you bought a slow car IE. Scion tC you go slow. for christ sake its an econo car that is meant to get 30mpg.
All in all even if you did go a billion miles an hour on the streets, i dont think you should be making it public. You did a billion miles an hour on the bonneville salts congrats to you.
Speed wisely...and you'll live longer.
AND NO, NO ONE HAS GONE OVER 127MPH so get over it
Wow this thread will never end. lol If someone has a video of them going over 127 then post it. Until then I'm saying the speed limit is 127. Already post of what I had to say about people saying they went over 127 mph on page 11. If you didn;t go over 127 then post the video of you doing it

Now, if we are ONLY talking about STOCK, right off the lot tCs. Then no, you won't pass 127
