You're not a loser. . . you're just SMART. Speeding at ANY time is relatively stupid. I choose to do it all the time, but it's one of the bad habits that I'm aware of for myself and I can't fix it. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy it. But it takes discipline and good thinking not to over-indulge when driving.

Kudos to you!

I don't blame him. . . I lied a lot at that age too, but then I learned that no matter how smart you are, there will always be people smarter than you (like Engifineer and Tomas) to put you in your place. Now I only post what I know is true, and leave it at that.

You just made my day. Seriously. "Riche Rich"

By the way, LILHIM07, I'm the only one who did answer your question, one person called you a loser, and then one person have a hypothetical situation in which, if you find a 5 mile downhill slanted at >60 degrees (which is huge. really, you can look it up and find out), then you can put your car in neutral and gravity can pull you downhill provided there's an absurd amount of wind traveling along in the precise direction your car is to push you onward against the INCREDIBLE amount of tire friction and air pressure building against your car.

That's right, I just said it's impossible. So I guess that's a "you're welcome" for the thanks you gave for those who answered your quesiton. tC's don't go 140, and spedometer needles don't violently shake around for any reason other than impending death.

Even then, considering the needle's weight, and the magnets and electronic forces on the needle, it would take a hell of a lot to shake the needle. Even if the polarity were to change rapidly between + and -, it would still look like a smooth swish swish.

Ok im not sure if this came up in the last 6 pages, but from what i've seen, it seems to be related to bigger wheels. Because the governor isn't related to speed (supposedly) its related to the rpms, so a bigger diameter would in that case cause 127+ speeds. I personally know 3 people with "aftermarket" 18+ rims that claim higher speeds. And although i have never SEEN it, i know these people are very trustworthy and would prove it to me if i asked them to.

Please correct me if i am wrong about the governor thing

And yes mine cuts off at 127 exactly, (stock wheels)

Assuming you have the torque to reach those higher speeds, the speedo would still read 127. You may gain a few mph, but the speedo (unless you find a way to calibrate it to the new wheels) will still read 127. You could figure your true speed, but would have to use a calculator to do that (not hard).

My slow climb from 85 to 118ish. Just getting the needle up there at about 1/2 throttle.

Strobe alert goes off scaring me a bit at first. Damn ambulance.

It looked like you had about 5400 rpm showing at the same speed as the pic above your post. So about 800/900 rpm difference at 115mph between auto and stick.

Yeah the tc need a 6th gear. I'm used to driving tmy ex girl's celica GT-S, Something I catch myself about to shift in 6th gear and then I remember the tC doesn't have a 6th gear, Doh When you driving a MT tC it feels like the tC is asking for a 6th gear.

yeah 120 ish on an auto tc, still had a few grand left in the tach...justa rough estimate from looking at the tach at 80, i'd say it could getup to 150 max onm gears

note this is the auto, which is geard quote differently then the manual.
