Default TRD Recording Sequential Shift Light Kit

Sorry if this is already posted somewhere, but I haven't seen any threads about it.

This is briefly mentioned on TRD's crappy website, with no link or details.
But I did a search and found this:

http://www.partznet.com/toyota/scion...tlightkit.html

Just something to gawk at for all those anticipating new parts.

It was posted a while back. Some people thought it looked cool. Most people were dissapointed with what it did and how much it cost to do it. I don't find it too thrilling and I'll buy almost anything for this car.

I just saw that on the trd site also. Ended up buying a couple of trd suspension pens and the trd rotor/clock.

I'm a sucker for toys

Anyone else have the shift light? How hard to install?

They gave a couple shift lights away @ Philly Exposed. They looked pretty cool. I would like to see one installed.

Gave away? Dang, I need to go to some of these meets. I wanted a shift light too but thought it way too pricey. I think last time it was mentioned, its not suppose to be that hard an install but don't remember anyone posting that they actually installed it. I'm hoping TRD will realize its way too over priced and will lower it a bit. If not, guess I'll just have to shift at the proper times the old fashioned way.

Seriously, unless you are in love with Blue LEDs and the TRD name, get this instead:

http://www.gtechpro.com/

Both the SS and RR models come with programmable shift lights, but the RR model also logs lateral Gs and lets you download the info to your PC for playback and anaylsis. Nice thing is they just plug into your lighter plug and mount to the windshield, so you can even use it in different cars. I got the G-Tech Pro Competition unit a while back and you can download a free firmware upgrade at the G-Tech website to give it the same functionality as the RR - for those looking for a deal get a used Comp model off of eBay.

So, what exactly does this thing do? I wouldn't mind a little light telling me when the flywheel and clutch are rotating at the same speed lol.
