Default TSB and VIN#

hey guys,

after waiting 15 weeks, dealership finally was able to give me the vin number of my car. the car recently arrived in portland and should be here around december 15th.

how do you interpret the vin number? is the last 5 digits the production number? do the other letters and numbers mean anything?

anyone know how many TSBs that have been released? according to the forums, there is a tsb released for the popping sunroof sound and the shifter for manuals. any others? do you think that i need to worry about these TSB's if the last 5 digits of the VIN is in the 28000s?

thanks guys!

it should be noted that the shifter TSB only replaces the shift lever, so if you're planning the short shift route, you can save yourself from some dealership grief.
