I would just keep your tC and save up money to buy something really nice down the road. The z4 is crap. And S2k's look better, but are really slow in daily driving (I'm assuming this would be your only car). Their engines are just too high strung to enjoy on the roads.

Default Get the Z4

Don't listen to anyone here that says the Z4 is crap. They are an great car and a blast to drive. You can't even campare a Z4 to a honda. You are going to pay more for maintanence and upkeep, but it will pay you back everytime you drive it. There is a reason they call it the Altimate Driving Machine. I've owned 3 different BMW's and don't regret one dime I had to spend to keep them in top shape. The only thing any BMW owner will tell you is they do cost more to own.

Good luck.

If you want the Z4 and can afford it, get it. Definitely don't get a 350Z. Also, I agree, the 6sp SMG is fun to drive, not as fun as a manual, but almost. The SMG is really trick, though and enjoyable. Any BMW is a blast to drive. Also, it should be a low 14 second car stock, and it only gets better from there. It would take a pretty boosted TC to get that, and it would still be FWD.

I've never once in my life seen someone buy an S2k to use as a daily driver... for a whole laundry list of reasons. Good luck, my friend.

Convertible as a daily driver is a hassle.
2-seater as a daily driver is a hassle.
Engine that makes absolutely nothing under 4 grand is a hassle. Traffic = fun!
Insurance is a bit rough (comp. coverage is high-- this is true for all convertibles)
Routine maintenance is high, relative to the pricepoint of the vehicle.

Bottom line, it's just not a "practical" car. Now you're 19, you can probably actually survive with it. But for most people (myself completely included) it has never, nor will ever, be an option. Not even for a weekender.
