upgrades, void warranty?

Default upgrades, void warranty?

The last car i did perfromance upgrades to, i owened out right
I am wanting to do some mild upgrades to my TC, for starters a C.A.I
then headers and etc, does doing the upgrades myself or by a shop void my warranty with the dealer,? i did purchase the extened warranty so i dont want my cash to go to waste........sorry if this question has been answered or if it is common knowledge

this question has been answered and is common knowledge. searching will find you the answer but i'll also answer below.

If you modify your car, and a part breaks and you wish to have warranty repairs done on it....the only way the dealer can deny warranty repairs is if they can PROOVE that the modification you did to your car caused the damage.

Example: CAI on my car and the shocks go out (or something)....warranty would cover the shocks repair.

Example: CAI and the throttle body blows up....could be an issue from the CAI so they might not cover it.
