Default use my claim money for minor blemish or performance?

I had a woman tap me from behind at a light, the damage is minimal, but it's a new car. Should I use the 650.00 for performance or fix the bumper cover? The paint is intact, there is only a slight indentation right below the lip on the rear bumper cover. What do you guys think?

most people have cosmetic damage repaired to their cars because it bugs them.

If you're asking this question then clearly it doesn't bug you much.

Sounds to me like you made up your mind and just don't know it yet.

Great advice..I was in this situation myself and went with fixing a minor scratch and dent on the front bumper - cost me $350.00 but then again it was driving me insane..of course if anything else happens to car in the future (which is inevitable) before I get TRD then I'll really be kicking myself

Its up to you. As long as it was not YOUR insurance who gave you the check use for parts. If it is YOUR company that gives you the check and you get hit again in the same area they don't have to cover replacing the cover since it was already damaged and not fixed previously. I have seen it first hand working at Farmers as an Insurance Adjuster/appraiser. But looks like it was the other lady who hit you so go for it.

I'd fix the blemish. It'd kill me to have a brand new car looking scarred. Performance or lack of it won't hurt me as much.

Fix the bumper. Can't tell you how many "tuned" cars I see out there with new aftermarket parts but the car itself has got dings and scratches all over it. Don't fall into that category.

i say put the money towards a new body kit I.E, rear bumper and front if theres one you like, but remember a dent or scratch looks bad no matter how small it is!

id say get the suspension springs and shocks for around 450 and use the rest and go to a good detail shop.

I have a $650 door ding from a hit and run. I'm going to have a guy take a wack at it for $100 and see if I can live with it.
