Default wat should i do? bring it to the dealership?

my tc is 6 months old. and i can see rust forming around the rotors through the rims. when i let go of my handbrake and let go of my brake to go down a lil hill or watever, i hear noises from the back brakes. should i bring it to the dealership to see if its under warranty for this thing? i barely drive the car and all. it only has about 4500miles. thanks

Is this happening after the car was rained on or washed? If so, this is completely normal. It's just super-fast rust formation, and the brakes feel rough and make ugly noises the first couple stops after the rust forms. But after those couple stops, voila! No more rust, regular brake operation, etc. Nothing to worry about, happens to everyone.

Rust on the rotors is normal. If your rotors get wet, and you leave the car sitting, rust will form. But, it should come off the first few times you brake.

Try spraying off the rotors and rims when they are COOL, not while hot.

Noise from your back brakes when you release the handbrake is normal--that's where the handbrake actually 'brakes.'

Other than that, what's happening that makes it undrivable?

If it's barely drivable, then yes, you should take it to the dealership.

*Ah, Magnus, beat me while I was posting!

the rotors rust a little bit, just drive and use the brakes and it comes right off. it should stop squealing once the rust is off.

The rust really isn't worth going in for - most rotors do that normally. However if you ALWAYS have noises from you brakes you should have them checked. I have a few seconds of a "grinding" noise after rain, while the pads clean the little bit of rust off.

well if the rust is forming and its hard for him to take off, it will prevent the cross over from vvt-i to vtec from happening at the proper speed. this will force oil straight out of the pcv valve wastegate, and cause a extreme oil loss to the hydraulic shift linkage making it difficult to shift, therefore staying in first gear and getting beat by a civic EX.... id get it checked out asap

I think you should get that checked out along with the clear fluid that leaks out of the bottom of your car when you turn the A/C on. Man these cars have ISSUES!

makes me wish they'd hand you a manual with information like before you buy a car. if you don't know basic concepts like this.....well i guess it's better you asked here then went to a dealer and got laughed at.

In other words, do not substitue blinker fluid for power window fluid
