Hey everyone!! I bareley got 16K miles on my tC and now im noticing that I have this thumping sound coming from my rear back wheel area.. It gets louder and more constant when I hit higher speeds and its so rough that it rattles my radar detector on my dash... What could be the problem?????? Is it something that is real serious or something minor????? Please help the noise is getting annoying!! Thanx!

 

is it always making the sound? or only on bumps or something?

 

check your tires for any bulges or any dead animal still stuck in your tire.

 

hmmmm... have you hit any bad potholes? it could by your hub assembly or your spindle. This will cause the noise to be louder at higher speeds. Youll notice the sound even when youre not hitting the gas.

I would put my money on it being a number of things... a bad spindle, BAD BEARINGS [most likely] or a bad hub assembly. You definetely want to get it checked out right away.

 

Its always making this sound.. I can feel it too not just hear it!! There are no buldges and no dead animals although I have hit a lot of them.. Now that I remember... I let my sis drive it 1 time and she ran over my curb with it so maybe thats the problem???
