Default Weird WIndow Question/problem

Ok, i have a weird situation with my passenger side window. Just had my windows tinted on Friday morning. They said to wait three days before lowering window. Fast Foward to today. Put my window down, drove for couple hours, came home, go to put the window up, and its going really slow, but goes up, i put it back down to go look at it, looks like a piece of black felt (im guessing part of the window inner lining?) its coming out, preventing the window from going up and down properly, Even when you lower it it impedes it, same on way up. So my questions are

A. When they tint your front wondows, do they take off the door panel???
B. If they do, do you think they f'ed it up
C. If they dont, whom should i contact about fixing it, the Tint Shop or Scion.
D. Would something like that be easily fixed, (would it be covered by warranty

Only had this car 3 weeks, really hoping nothing is messed up

I'm having the same problem. My tint shop tried to lube the tint and glass with no effect. He looked at it more closely and said that there is an inner seal that is impeding the movement.... I asked why it wasnt happening on the drivers side and he had no answer. Kinda sucks, scratched my tint over the course of the last few months with this rubbing... leaves awful streaks if its even a little wet too.

Any ideas would be helpful and appreciated!

go back to the place you got the tint and tell them to fix it. the problem is because the window has two rubber layers on the bottom. one you can see and one that youc ant. when they tinted your window they pushed down the rubber so they can tint it properly to get out all the air bubbles or what not, but when they finished they didn tpull u pthe secondary rubber. i had that problem myself an dthe place i tinted it at (astro tint) were b ein jerks. they wouldnt admit it was their fault so i brought it to a different place and they told me about the whoel rubber thing so i went back to the original place i got it tinted and told them off! i todl them the whole 2 rubber thing and they knew i knew what was goin on with my car so they had no choice but to fix it. so yeah, moral of the story is that if you know whta's goin on then they will help you and wont take you as a fool. but yeah good luck. worse to worse, just bring it back to your dealership. hope this helps.

It amazes me when tinters do this, rather than using a hard card and slidding it in. It's quicker to do it the said method, but for god's sake, no respect for other's car!

yeah no problem dude. just make sure you say, "oh there's a secondary rubber that you guys probably forgot to pull up. that's why there are streak marks on my window (or whatever the problem was). oh yeah, about burnin the motor, it wont damage the motor but it'll damage the rubber if its bent too long and with the heat from the comin up summer days, its gonna get ugly so i say u fix it ASAP.

Default man!

Hey guys, the same exact thing happened to me. I was so ticked off since my car has less than 300 miles on it....i was ready to get medieval with the tint guys, but I went to the dealership to have them fix it....I looked close and there is not a felt strip on the back of the rubber trim! all my hondas, my friends trucks all have this....so the glass will slide.....seems weird to me, I just hope the toyota house can fix it...I'll post the outcome...

This is probably what happened with my car when I got them tinted. I ended up taking it to the dealer and they replaced the seals, it fixed it. I was also getting a loud squeak.

It won't be a problem, they just forgot to fix it before they sent the car out. No biggy. I still say this is the wrong way to tint though. But what do I know.

same here. I just got home from the toyota dealership....they replaced the rubber weatherstripping down there. No big deal they said....after hearing everyone's story, I'm concluding that the tinters had something to do with it....too coincidental that it happens to people and each case had tint put on recently....dunno...I'm just glad it's fixed...'bout drove me crazy....a week without rolling the windows down sucks. Thank god for a/c.... Hope this helps.

Same thing happened to me. My tint guys answer was to wait for the sun to heat the stripping so it goes back into place or to go to the dealership. Great guy let me tell you. If I ever see him again I'm ripping his heart out with my bare hands.
