i am in brea, ca, so very close to the recent fires.
everything is fine, fortunately.
but this morning getting in to my car, i opened the back hatch
and there were ashes all over the back!
front was fine, but just in back, and not a few ashes, there was a lot
definitely going to have to vacuum the back really well
is this normal? anyone else experience this?

 

heard that there are vents in the hatch area to equalize the cabin pressure when you close your doors. they may have gotten in from there. that would be my best guess

 

Fire + Wind = ASH everywhere........Duh!!!

 

also, the hatch is not air tight. there maybe little gaps in the weather stripping

my car had ash on it and it was PARKED IN THE GARAGE

 

My tC & my xB were covered in ash in West Hills. Normally they're both garaged but the tC's not running & I let my puppy have the garage so she wouldn't be outside in the crappy weather. I turned on my AC yesterday & it blew ash all over the inside of the box. =/

Now it smells like i'm a smoker. I hate the smell of smoke. Ugh!

 

be sure to change the cabin air filter...if you have one.

after the fires, mine was pretty freakin black.
