Question What to buy?

I own a 2009 scion tc. I have about $2000 from my tax return that i want to put into my car.

I need some advice on what would the best mods would be for me.

The car is a daily driver, but I would like it to handle and drive better and be able to take it on some windy roads.

I currently have a dr. isotope short shifter.
I have a short ram intake, and an axleback exhaust (which i dont really like, interested in a catback).

If you could give me some ideas that would be great!

Thanks!

Car payments are not to worry about, I have them covered. Interested in making the ride more enjoyable while I pay

if you want a full exhaust, just get a midpipe and maybe a downpipe also

if you want better handling, lower the car a bit if not already, and a rear sway bar and decent tires

Coilovers and a sway bar seem like a good idea.

Any brand suggestions?

Also, do you know where i could buy a midpipe and a down pipe?

Thanks!

car payments is def a good idea, but if youve got those covered, get a pair of
QUALITY coilovers, not some racelands, unless all you wanna do is slam it

Just out of curiosity what do you consider quality? The material and craftsmanship is the same of any other product coming out of china.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Racelands, I rode on them for years with my GTI and Jetta. I have had them installed on my tC now for a couple months and still no problems. They are just the right stiffness and the ride comfort is unbelievable for the price they sell these for.
Sorry OP not trying to thread jack just trying to give you true experience opinions in case your interested in them.

Back on topic what do you want to do to the car. In all honesty I would start with suspension and brakes/tires. You will always see a dramatic initial improvement of your cars handling and stability. Go with a rear sway and lowering springs if you don't want to blow all of your money.

definitely should lower the car and get the DG specs rear sway bar. if you install it yourself, it will cost you between $550.

$230 for spring, $80 for alignment, and $220 for sway bar.

i would do springs, shocks/struts and a rear sway. Best improvements I have done. Mine is a daily also and still rides great and handles very well. Oh yeah I have TRD rear sway, TRD springs and shocks/struts.

So i went to this local shop today, I need some new tires and I was looking into getting some rims, I asked if he would make me a deal if I got some other mods.

He quoted me 2300 for:

4 XXXR 518 rims
4 Falken tires
HID Kit (8000k or less)
Tanabe Coilovers (Sustec pro 5)
Magnaflow full catback exhaust

all installed for 2300

also he was gonna look into a sway bar kit for the car too.

does this seem like a good deal?

find me one of those steal TRD coilover. lol

that sound pretty good for me. but do some research, and see how much all those parts cost. I know magnaflow full catback exhaust cost about $550, HID kit $80, coilovers about $900, 4 tires and rims should cost you about $800 and that is for cheap tires and rims.
