cuz it pops automatically when you press the button on the handle. why would you need to pop it from the inside? as soon as you, or whoever gets back there, you can just pull it open right there. i like that, cuz there were a few times my shoelace got caught on the lever in my old car and accidentally popped the trunk.

Yeah, I dont see any use for an inside trunk release.. in a way there is.. its the Unlock button :-P It being locked is the only reason you cant just go open it with the button.. a release inside the car would be 100% pointless. That is the purpose of them using a button release on the hatch itself, so you dont need to pop it

its a hatch......as in a 3rd door.
doors dont have a release so why would the hatch...
although it could be a cool custom thing.

Default Dag gone rattle

Thought I was just hearing things when I heard the rattles. It started with just the hatch area, the dashboard, then finally this past week, the dash seems to creak. That's the only thing I hate.

that it came stock looking like a 4x4 (i lowered it so no biggie!)
engine a little to weak. Would be nice to come stock with around 180-200Hp/tq
rattle rattle rattle from cheap plastic. better gas mileage. White LED gauges instead of amber. LED Tails (better than the TYC tails, preferr the new cadi's tails)

I have 4000 miles on my car now.

    The things I dislike:

    1. Car needs Limited Slip Differential

    2. The temp gauge and the clock should have their own displays so I wouldn't have to toggle back/forth

    3. The passenger seat should slide back more. No need for all the rear seat legroom if no one is in the back seat.

    4. I would have preferred a higher performance tire option from the dealer, to have mounted on stock rims.

Other than that no real complaints. I love driving it, would just enjoy it a bit more if some of the above items were part of the equation.

the interrior. (the black parts) it looks cheap, like cardboard. Everything else, i'm satisfied with.

Default The 3rd brake light only lights up int he middle

This just bugs the heck out of me.

Did Scion run out of LED's or something.

If you put a lens on the outside your supposed to have lights behind it.

    All of it!

i agree the interior looks cheap, inferior to the new civic's interior in some areas.

the fabric used for the seats and arm rest gets dirty quick. dust and dirt is higly visible. rubbing the elbow on the center arm rest will leave skin flakes/white marks on it.

the rattles has got to go. i notice and predict more rattles to come as the tC ages. just tap/knock on the roof where the grey fabris is, and you'll notice numerous creaks/rattles as you tap it. maybe all these rattles come from the complexity of the glass roof. also the dash area and sunrook rattles. i hate the rattles.

rpm gauge should be bigger, to make it seem more performance oriented, even though it isn't.
    cover for cup holders
    lighter doors
    5 spd auto
better on gas, atleast it only requires regular
better hatch design so water doesn't leak in on rainy day
i hate the steering wheel material and finish. mostly the look of the center where the horn and air bag is.

Heh, the oil change guy was testing my lights the other day and said "you should go get your back brack light fixed, some of the bulbs have burnt out." Oh brother.

Needs 6th gear or lower final drive ratio, and the rattling tailgate and sunroof are annoying......otherwise i love my car and I get alot of attention in it.

x2! You guys are expecting waay too much. V6? 6th gear? RWD? that's all retarded, and those people don't deserve to drive a tC.

(lucky for me, my '06 has a volume ****! )

    my only complaints are

    1. the door being too high. I admit it, the high, thin windown adds to the attractiveness of the car, but it's not comfortable to put my elbow on. funny thing is, neither is the door armrest. its uncomfortable to rest my elbow *anywhere* while driving.

    2. I like the stereo cover, but it should be motorized from the factory. if I can do it myself for $100, then Toyota should be able to do it for $25.

    3. first gear is too short. the rest are fine! but I agree that changing the gear ratios would only hurt performance with that engine.

Other than those, I think it's a nearly perfect platform. it's not supposed to be a racecar!! but for what it is, it's a perfect starting point for whatever add-ons you want on your car. My hat is off to Toyota.

Realistically no one is complaining about the car in general, but this post asked what we dont like, what we would change. I would personally fix the rattles and add a 6th gear. And, FYI, a 6 speed tranny costs almost the same as a 5speed for Toyota to have put it in so claiming its a 16k car and therefore shouldnt have that is BS!!

true, I'll give you the 6th gear thing wouldn't cost much more. what I meant to say was the LSD, which would cost more.

LSD tends to be pretty expensive, unless you know where to get it....

where would that be? I plan on dropping the $1200 for the quaife next summer, but are you suggesting I can get one cheaper?
