well ive been reading alot of people complaining about the lack of power or lack of throttle response well there is a solution for that its called a throttle controller from TWP,it works very well,i personally have it and i get instant response everytime,it gets the full potential out of the car,and no its not crap or a gimmick it works really well....

 

does it affect your mpg's?

 

yes in the higher sporting modes since the throttle is open more then stock its burning more fuel but you can also do the Eco Mode which saves gas espcially if your turboed and in heavy traffic........you can ajust it to your needs as well as the conditions in your area,

 

^^ you realize that adds ZERO power, and just tricks you into thinking you have the throttle pressed more when you dont.

If you want that out of your car, FLOOR IT. And those that complain about power, add boost. Done and done.

My complaint (and there is nothing that can be done about it, and I knew it going into the car) is that a lot of "kids" own the car... For example, the same cant be said about AMG benzes or M series Beemers, or even the porsche click, which is where I came from with my 944 turbo.

But thats what happens when you make something good, and cheap - everyone gets in on the action

i never said it adds power..........theres no tricking anything....on stock settings you have to press the throttle half way down before the car actually goes,well with the controller i put it in SP2 or SP3 which is about 30 to 40 % more senstive then stock i press on the gas a little bit and the car goes i do WOT it feels like a turbo,ppl might think yea it in yoour head but i know what i feel and know it works,

 

I hated the little light in the cubby, lack of mid range, lack of grip (understeer needs factory option for lsd not dealer), transmission (needs longer 1st, and/or 6th gear), that the newer version is a step backwards in styling and it has all the things fixed that I would have done if the same package we have now, cheap paint that chips really easy, a/c compressor that burnt out @ 36.5K miles, my seats that seem to have matermarks from God knows what, and the number one thing that I hate most about my tC.......

Its now bascially a honda...but just out of reach of all the people that could really do cool stuff for the commoners like me, do things like fab and sell engine swap componets, etc...

 

ok, so it doesnt add power, but it feels like you have a turbo? lol.. Im boosted. Nothing feels like it, except running PSI's. Do I need to pull up the chart from their website to prove my point to you? You DO realize that you never get more than 100% throttle, so wtf is the diff if I press my pedal down further than you are? Nothing, its the exact same thing.

I am glad your one of those that falls into the trap, but a throttle controller isnt for me. If you strapped you car onto a dyno, your car is not going to even make 1hp more. 100% is 100%, it doesnt matter if it "feels" like its more, its not. Your just not pressing your gas pedal as far.. BFD yo.

 

hes not saying it gains WHP. hes saying throttle is more responsive with the controller, thats all.

 

I wish they had color-tuned the backlighting for the gauges/AC etc for the RS 5.0 because it makes no sense to have a red interior and orange lights all over the car. I also hate the cheap paint. I have tons of rock chips. And, I hate that rain stained my seat (someone mentioned this earlier).

which controller did you get and how much was it my06tc? did you install it urself?

 

yes i know it doesnt add power,i never said anything about %100 throttle,
if your turboed it makes the turbo spool faster,and no i didnt fall into a trap into buying it,it was cheap and %100 worth it,my car is much more responsive when i want it to be,if im stuck in traffic put it too Eco mode and i save gas by slowing down the throttle responsive so 1st isnt to torquey......yea i know its nothing like a real turbo but as i mention its feels like you have turbo on the higher Sprorting modes,i guaranted you if you were to buy this controller and put it in SP2 or SP3 mode youll be amazed on how much faster the car will be,not HP wise....and ill knock off your 0-60 time,i have no proff but its a guanrated..

 

i hate that my auto is only a 4spd. :/ lol

if only the autos were 5 and the manuals were 6

 

i dont know why some of you guys are saying the tc is cheap. I make alot of money at my job and coughing up the 16k for my car was not cheap lol like seriously who has 16k laying around in your bank account? Luckily I got my money from a lawsuit that I won so I jus bought the car cash...16 grand in a duffle bag straight to the dealership homie!




and to the guy who said alot of kids are driving scions...well im sorry to dissapoint ya bruh but thats the community that scion aimed at for it's sales. Hence the commercials with all the modded tcs and all the features in the car that the younger population would enjoy rather than older people. But i understand what you mean, Im 24 so I consider my self young but i do see alot of 16-19 yr old kids driving tc's.. . .but they gotta start somewhere tho right?
