What has the dealership messed up for you?
I have had excelent service at mine. Only problem was they scratched the polished cover to the supercharger rod. Thing going from the turbine to the pulley. Other than that I have had great service. They seem to love me when I come in. Must be all the money I have spent.
never really had big issues with my dealer... they put mats in my car i didn't want and they said that they couldn't take them out... oh yeah... got my 2nd oil change and bought synthetic... first oil change they did it right.. second oil change i got my car and the oil was still sitting in the passenger's seat. they took it back and redid the oil change...
ehh my horror story wasnt with buying but because of the collosion shop. my fiancee had an accident in my car 3 months after i got it(to the day mind you) so while it was in there we decided to put the kaminiari kit on(cause she felt bad about wrecking it) the guy was like ok no problem just pay the difference between the factory parts and the body kit. were like ok no problem, then horror happends. 1st they tell me they cant put it on because it wont be safe because its fiberglass im like no its polyurethane call them up they will tell you its on the website as well. we clear that issue , then they tell me it wont fit the car im like its made for the car there have been no fitment issues reported yet so thats not a problem if it doesnt fit thats fine i will take it to a another body shop that a friend works at he will correct the issue, he argued with me again im like look if you dont want to do the work i will take my car away from you and have another dealer work on it, they are more then willing to do it they have agreed to and i have explained the situation to them and they are ready to tow it. so he finally agrees to do it, then kaminari forgets to ship the kit so instead of making kaminari over night the kit (i waited 3 weeks for them to get the kit) they say it will be here at the end of the week, then a lil hurricane named rita came along so they werent able to put the kit on
so rita comes and rita goes and they finally get the kit on. took them 2 months accident happend aug 18th i got the car oct 10th i think it was. that was my horror story.
Nothing major, just that I bought an 06 tC and scheduled an appointment for the next day to get my h/u installed. Waited for like 3-4 hours for them to finish, only for them to tell me that someone ordered the wrong harness. They ordered an 05 rather than an 06. Not that big of a deal, just had to wait like 3 more days till I had a funtioning h/u.
may i mention a quote i got from a guy i knew: "trust is the first sign of failure." never trust anyone. always double check the work yourself!!! when i get my first oil change, or any other services i'll make sure to check my fluid level etc...
my dad bought his 03 4runner at the same dealership i got my tC. a whiles back he took his 4runner to the dealership to get an oil change. when he recieved his car after the change the oil was filled way too high, way above the full mark. apparently they never drained the oil. people are lazy and stupid. i wish i knew how to do everything myself. and i also wish i know what exactly to check for after someone else does the work. some of these horror stories are just hard to believe...
my sale's person was excellent, very knowledgeable about the car and very professional... seemed pretty honest for the most part, but i can still tell here and there he throws in some comments that aren't exactly "True" since he is trying to sell and promote the product. he mentioned to me that he never heard of the rattle problems on tC...
when i recieved my bsp tc last friday, it was running fine, but now i think there are some rattles creeping up. nothing major at all, but rattles nonetheless. i mean you can't hear it if the radio was on lvl 6-7. i was thinking about letting them know and getting it fixed, but i'm afraid they might mess it, or something else up in the process.
one thing i thought was a little shady was the finacial person that i was doing all the paper work with. he tried to sell me the warranty and lo jack. he mentioned that both these items would boost up resale. so i got both extended warranty and lo jack. the extended warranty is $1316 and 100 deductible. the lo jack did not lower my insurance like the person had said. what a bunch of bs. the guy was a friendly person and all, but i guess that's how they make the sale, by selling themselves.

i had my sunroof worked on because it was making a whirring noise when opening. i dropped off the car and they worked on it all day. when i got it back, it was snowing outside, so i didn't have a chance to look at it till a few days later when i noticed that the one side of the back part of the front sunroof was lower than the other side. also, they let the guys with the dirty fingers reinstall my interior pieces. i figured it was wasn't worth a 20 min trip to have them rub out the smudges on the fabric, so i did it myself. i will get the sunroof corrected next time i get my oil change, which is pretty much any day now.
i don't like how they move the drivers seat all the way back. also, i hate when i'm at the counter and the guy drives my car away to a bay, but revs it up to about 4000 rpm before slowly letting the clutch in. thanks for the roast

Also I assume you meant clutch 'out' not in..
I have also witnessed the carnage of tech's throwing it in reverse while rolling forward, and grinding the synchros.

Manual Transmission:
- The E350 transmission is a compact, lightweight 5-speed manual. There is a double-cone synchro on the REVERSE gear. Triple-cone synchros can be found on FIRST and SECOND gear. This provides faster gear engagement, smoother shifting, and reduces noise.

i ordered a rear lip spoiler, but it didn't come with my tC when i received it because it was on back order.. so when it came in i took my car to the dealership and they messed up my hatch!! they drilled the holes wrong makin my lip spoiler lookin crigged(sp? lol) SO they had it redone i bet under the lip theres all these unwanted holes haha. - took them 3 hrs the first time they did it, and then i had to wait 4 days! til they finally got it put on right.
they upgraded my headunit to the ipod capable color changin one, i didn't want it because i was gonna get an aftermarket one.
i told them i wanted the "scion security" but instead they gave me automate's anti-theft system. i later got it refunded because i had problems with it. - took 30 mins just to take out the ATS.
however they extended my warranty for free so i got 19 more free oil changes! the dealership here are pretty good with people, however by quality its not that great cause it seems like they don't know what their doing or talking about. the supervisor of the scion here at the dealership didn't even know about the switch for the scion security by the steerin wheel with the other switches! i was very disappointed because even i knew my scion more then the scion sales person lol. they should really do research

I actually just went through the E350 repair section and the output shaft actually does have synchros associated with the reverse gear!
I still haven't quite figured out how the reverse idler gear keeps from getting hung up, but I'm sure that if I saw the assembly itself, instead of the line drawings of the disassembled box, it would make a lot more sense.
Thanks for correcting me on that - learn something every day.

Surprises me that they went for synchros on reverse on this transmission. It's a more complex transmission than I expected.
team toyota/scion in langhorne pa is the worst dealer by far. they told me my scion would take 2 weeks 2 arrive, it took 6. when i got it they didn't include the floor mats which i ordered and "forgot" to give me all my paperwork. The mats came in within 2 days but they now.....they didn't give me a cargo mat, which again i paid for. just got the paperwok in the mail and they screwed it all up. They just don't care, listen or give a crap their.....
I got no cargo mat... they missed the license plate mount bracket and put a dent in my bumper... lastly, they scratched my interior when installing my headunit.
Stopped caring about the rear cargo mat when I went and yelled at them a year later and got me some new free '06 floor mats (since my '05s grew a hole), they replaced my entire center console because of the scratch... and I fixed the license plate with a self fabricated bracket that used 2 layers of screws (pat on the back for me) and basically used their screw up to the new bracket's advantage.
Same dealership a few years back... I got an 04 camry with the black out headlights (The SE model)... tell me why my New Camry came with one blackout headlight, and the other a regular chrome one?!?!?!?!???! I thought it was hilarious, they replaced it tho.

well, my salesman didn't know much about the car either. when asked about the curb weight of the tc he told me 3700. I looked at him with shock and just thought to myself I need to get out of here. the finance guy tried selling me a bunch of stuff I didnt want too. I told him I didn't want any of the warranty's and he was like 'really!' trying ot make me feel like the odd man out or something. I had to tell him that I won't have the car long enough for the original warranty to expire just to get him off my back. first time buying a new car for me, took longer than I expected for the whole process.
I came back about a week later to get my accessories installed (dim mirror, rear spoiler, trd muffler). got my car back with blue paint on driver door from hitting the car lift, a mirror that wouldn't dim, and metal shavings dropping from my hatch when I opened it. :/
Plus grease finger marks all over my rear bumper and driver door. I told the service manager "I don't understand how you see that and not clean it up. That's just plain sloppy!" He said he have it cleaned and everything working right. He did get it all fixed, but it cost him a fuse panel lid which was also broke in the process. Anyway, I like my car and generally I like the service manager, but I think he needs to use a little more boot to the ___ technique with his monkey's in the shop.

I went to go see my car today at the dealership because the hit the passenger side mirror, and when i was inspecting everything i found that the attenna wasnt there. I found there was still threading from the attenna in there. I'm never gonna get that car.. *sigh*
