I just scratched my spoiler on my garage door while I flipped it up. Anyways, whats the best way to cover it up? It's not deep, I don't feel it when I run my finger nail over it, and it's about a quarter inch?
Anyone know of some good products?

 

meguiars scratchx or 3m rubbing compound. and also some touch up paint if needbe

 

^^ isnt it hard to put touch up paint ?

 

a guy at work used 3m rubbing compound and removed his scratch.

 

sadly it will never be the same

unless u paint the entire spoiler over

x2 on the scratch x, it worked great for me when i had a nasty scratch. I know wal mart sells it if your looking.

 

well it matters, i remember on my mitsu, it was a pen, some have brushes.. but generally it shouldn't be too hard..

 

^^^ yeah just don't use the supplied brush, go to an art store, get a finer, thiner grade brush. Much better results. Just takes a steady hand, and patience.

also don't forget to use wax remover before laying down new paint. Helps remove grime, wax, so the paint will stick well.

 

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! u dont need tuch up paint!!!! i had the same problem!!!!! i used turtlewax rubbing compound.. it took it off so easy like it was some dirt :D

btw rubbing compound is too strong.. if u can.. buy turtlewax rubbing compound and polishing compoung.. try the polishing compound!!! if it wont work then try the rubbing compound.. but the polishing compound should work!!!!!!

rubbing compund will make more swirls!!!

 

csocso, what we all need is a picture of the scratch, then we can diagnose it further. We're like Dr. Scion MD :D

so he doesnt need touch up... as i said same thing happened to me... all i needed is just a little bit of the polishing compound..... maybe rubbing compound but that stuff is strong... it will make swirls.....


so if he needs rubbing compound then after that he needs to use polishing compound or scratch-x to get rid of the swirls...

 

some one should write "DIY"

i will love to see one.
