I agree with everyone else, that the Passport 8500 X50 is pretty good. It has kept me from getting many tickets for stupid things like 80 in a 70 or whatever. I wanted the V1 but couldnt justify spending the extra money.

 

Wow... Then my bad! If your going to bash then you should at least post some links to some "reputable" information. Because the "word" apparently didn't get to the rest of us.

 

Bah the Passport and V1 are more or less the same. The V1 has directional which makes it different. However it's more expensive and thus I have a Passport. I got my blue one for $230 on eBay about a year ago

 

hate to say it, but walmarts 150 cobra has paid for itself many times over... although when new tech comes out, its time to buy the new one

 

I've got the Passport 8500 X50. It's pretty much an investment vs. getting several speeding tix. Lately i've been using it for its built in voltmeter.

 

Its all valentine 1 for me, i was doing 120 on I90 and i saw an arrow facing forward, so i started slowing down. I slowed down to 70, the speed limit is 55, but the guy pulled me over and gave me a warning, mmmmm valentine 1

 

Voltmeter? How do you access it?

 

does anyone know how much of a difference there is between the Bel v940 and the more expensive Bel models?

 

The more expensive models are worth it....they detect further out is generally the biggest difference...and an important one as well

 

i have the passport, best feature i love is the auto volume and temp mute button on the cig plug. Valentine 1 just keeps beeping and beeping, especially annoying going throu ezpass and passing by 711. Passport just a few beeps (the closer the more closer apart the beeps are) and volume decreases. I bought the passport for $120 from a kid that stole it from a car, so was well worth it

 

Radar detector don't always work, I just got busted doing 83 mph in 65 zone, My Rx65 beep at the same time when i saw the cop car. I was lucky, He only gave me a warning.
