who ever has an 07 scion tc 5spd get abck to me
Sounds like a lot of abusive driving to me. And it has nothing to do with the tCs internals being weak, most cars hav a rev limiter. It keeps people from accidentally holding thier car at redline or being morons and always redlining it.
But this thread is turning into a poor typing and communication contest now. For the love of god people.. a little punctuation!

no i'm not trying to play with the redline andre1782. this happened to me by accident when i found out. then i tried it again and it concerned me. i learned my lesson with my first tc.
racerxj17 yeah thats the same thing that happens to me. i think toyota did this to prevent damages to the engine.

The rev limiter (whether it cut the fuel or simply hold the rpm at one point) IS there to prevent damage to the engine. Whether it holds the engine right at redline or "bounces" the same effect is achieved and the same potential damage can occur.
i think i know what he meant by holding on at rev limiter... i think it does the same way as if you put a 2 step limiter on your car... it holds on the rpm like you were about to launch... right?
no i don't mean like a two step what i mean is that it doesn't bounce back at all it just stays there in place perfectly. and well i never seen any car do that. it does that along with some other stuff if you read up you'll know what i'm talking about.
what do you mean what is the recomended shif out of first at wot?

My 07 tC does not hold at the rev limiter. It will bounce...BUT I have had it weaken if I shift too close to the rev limiter. it almost feels like traction control or something. So I just shift sooner....(like at 3400 rpms....) and it completely solves that problem.
I know what your talking about when you say it doesn't bounce of the rev limiter. My old Tiburon didn't bounce either. it stayed at 6500-6400. I like it better that way. why have it bounce when it could just stay there. Were the 05's drive by wire? I think it may be that on the 07's that cause that little lag. The shock to the system makes the car hiccup, sorta. Does that make any sense? Also, i don't know what the rev limiter on my 07 tc is, because I haven't hit it yet. I raced my old car, but this one i want to keep stock and as nice as possible.
The jerk/"dying out" is from the engine not advancing any further into the powerband. As for the tach not bouncing, who cares? It's stupid to focus on it. You hit the fuel cut-off in a turbo setup, you better say your prayers.
why do you say you better say your prayers? and well i care about it not bouncing off of the rev limiter cause how about when i go to the track what if i try to warm up the tires? that kind of stuff might not let me. well that stuff my old tc didn't do it would bounce off of the rev limiter.
what do you mean drive by wire? be specific on that one please. what do you mean cause that little tag? what shock? what you mean hiccup? sorry if i'm not getting it. having a long day at work. the rev limitter actually improved on the 07 its a little higher than the 05

try shifting at 6,000 rpms instead of shifting when it hits the rev limiter i know what ur talkin about u shift at redline and the rpm drop real hard like down to 4k thats what ur talking about right best thing u can do is shift at 6k plus its not good to b shifting at redline even if u just do it to race u will notice slower times 6k i find works beautiful good power all the way through and the rpms dont drop much

As for warming up tires...
Regardless, how could a bouncing rev limiter allow you to fry your tires, whereas a "solid" one would not? Dropping anchor at 6k rpms is the same as 4k.
no they don't drop at all you can be hitting the redline holding the pedal to the floor that it doesn't bounce back it just stays there at the end. ive never seen a car that does that. but that doesn't worry me much what really worries me is when you shift hard if you don't let go of the gas at all the tires will squeek but it'll cut off for a second then pick right back up. my old scion wouldn't do that.
well thats not true cause my last scion was limited slip and always warmed up both no matter what thats how it came stock and i took it to the track as for this one i don't know yet cause i haven't tooken it or tried burning out.

what do you mean better tires? they cam with different tires?
no i didn't and well it must have came with an lsd already cause i garranty you it wasn't an open diff. i didn't think i warmed up both i knew it. i left tire marks to prove it and smoke coming out of both. so there for i had proof.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Every tC ever made ever. Ever. Has come with an open differential. So unless you added one, then it had an open diff and you're wrong about the type of differential it had.
As for this:
"what really worries me is when you shift hard if you don't let go of the gas at all the tires will squeek but it'll cut off for a second then pick right back up. my old scion wouldn't do that."
What really worries me is that you're keeping the throttle pinned while you shift. You realize that when you press in the clutch to shift, you're disengaging your transmission? So if you continue to hold the gas, you're over-revving your engine. Think about putting your car in neutral and slamming the gas. Sound good for your engine? No. You need to take some driving lessons before you destroy your car.
Simply put, your car is fine. But it won't be for long if you keep driving like that.

This is turning into a bunch of terrible mis-info and even worse communication. What is posted above me is correct
I just wonder I am not sure but maybe I think they should lock this thread the moderators probably havent seen it actually they are probably doing like me and laughing at it right now a friend once told me I dont use enough punctuation and no one can understand what I write I wonder why no one ever reads what I post my car makes funny noises when I redline it and power shift my tranny grinds now my engine rattles.
