who ever has an 07 scion tc 5spd get abck to me
honestly ive had the same problem in my 07 5 speed ... but my problem only seems to happen going into 3rd .. liek someone stated its almost like a bog .. but its only when im racing .. and i start my move into 3rd around 5.8 -5.9k its almost that same feeling you get when you hit fuel cut ..
example 1-2nd easily shifting right at 6700 now if i shift at about 6200 going into 3rd and right when i feel it in gear nail the throttle .. it drops to way under 3500rpms .. but if i shift at 5.5k into 3rd its all good still makes power liek i should ..
also does anyone notice any misses in power on quick acceleration .. say going down the road in 2nd gear and kind of get on it .. itll sputter a lil between 3500 - 3900rpms ..

i have an 07 and also don't like this "new limiter" i understand it's there for a reason. i don't want to eliminate it or raise it, but it somehow is different than the prior years. i think the prior years cut spark instead of fuel. cutting fuel will create problems if your boosted and the fuel is cut. you'll still be boosting with no fuel coming in.
i know you shouldn't hit the limit and there isn't more power there. but when you turbo there is going to be more power at the limit and the engine will rev a lot faster and it'll be harder to keep it from hitting the limiter if your turboed.
i think you guys are all being a little hard on the guy who started this thread. it isn't really a big problem now but if your boosting it will be.

also i have had the problem shifting from 1st to second. if you get close to the rev limit and shift quickly there is a nice bog there. it gets a little annoying when your playing around.

I get that loss of power feeling too after a quick shift. I mean, I engage smoothly... just very quickly. But there's this momentary "loss" of power
At first I thought it was just my head. But it kept happening during the same quick, tidy shifts. So then I thought that maybe I was falling below 2k without really realizing it.
That failed since it still happens even at higher RPMs, sort of. I haven't done any extended testing for a while, because now I just shift really relaxed-like.
The only thing I can think of is maybe its the clutch... maybe its still slipping for a split second? Our clutches are made for comfort and not really grabbing hard, AFAIK. But then again, if the clutch is slipping, shouldn't the engine rev a bit? I don't know. :?

ye this sux... sometimes this bog is exactly how u loose a race at the track or don't get the time u want... its happened to me many times and im pretty sure i just have to get used to it... but its a pain on the rear... if you go to streetfire and type in lafa.... watch the race lafa vs. harrison.... (lafa=me Harrison=neothin) as some of u might kno he gots a lot more stuff then me and he barely beat me but if u watch it carefully u can see wut im tlking about the bog.. i went from a huge gap till it started to pik up again and i caught up.. he beat me but only by like .2 secs
