I hate that man. I just did my 1st oil change on my new tC and I couldn't get the filter off to save my life. The machine/person at the factory put that thing on like their life depended upon it...

Finally had to borrow a oil filter wrench and pried the damn thing off...

Well... I'm a Tech at a dealership and I understand you completly. Next time you try taking off a drain bolt use a 6 point socket instead of a 12 point (6 point looks like a hexogon and 12 point looks like a starburst). The 6 point grabs the bolt better with less chance of stripping. Also remember that when someone is removing a drain bolt on a car that is on a lift, that person has the advantage of comfortably using leverage and bodyweight. Those are two things that are not so easily feasable (sp?) when you are on your back in your drive way.

yeah, when i was in orlando florida, central florida toyota over torqued my wheel lock after rotating my tires, so it cracked while i drove on it. i chewed them out and got a new set of wheel locks. never happened again.

i used them for 6 months, not a bad dealership, they are right on orange blossom trail. give them a try.

they have donuts in the morning and sandwiches in the afternoon. lol.

Hate to bump this but caught a glimpse while searching.

Let me get this straight? YOU rounded off the drain bolt and you're questioning the technician's integrity? LOL, you sound like a hypocrit to me hot shot.

And when mechanics start getting payed more than 30K a year(if your seasoned), and younger ones make more than $10/hour maybe we'll see more qualified techs. Until then we're stuck with all the wannabe racers that rice up their beater jap cars.

BS what's so hard about giving each mechanic a torque wrench, or at least one of those torque adapters that keep impact guns in check? 30 lbs on the drain plug and 76 on the lug nuts. It's not brain surgery. I've done maintenance on my tc since I got, never had a problem removing any bolts.
