Thank god it doesnt IMO. Everytime I awaken due to a neighbors alarm anouncing their arrival I want to throw rocks at their car!!! But thats just me. I dont like my car announcing me coming and going and bugging the neighbors.

Mine doesn't honk or beep. It's silent security, which I prefer. I'd rather have an active silent ignition kill than an obnoxious honking that goes off whenever and whereever.

This is all true..but everyone has thier own preferance being that it's their car. I personally like the Honk. I wasnt really liking the fact of always making sure the lights blinked to make sure the car was locked. But that's my opinion.

i think the honk shows a luxury status. usually really nice cars all honk or beep. atleast the tc flashes.

I am in agreement with the non-honkers.... plus my buddy has a TRD Tundra or some late model Toyota pickup and that beep is way more annoying than a horn. Thank god they didn't use that either...I just about plug my ears in my carport when he locks his doors!

However, it would be nice if it gave an audible cue when you double tapped the lock button. During the day, it's hard to see the flashing lights indicating that the car is locked....

It hardly has anything to do with luxury Most cheap alarms have the feature, and have as far back as I can remember having alarms on cars. It is a simple 5 minute add on to design to add the honk. Think about it, it flashes the lights, so having it honk the horn wouldn't quite constitute a "luxury" add on. I think they should have added the feature as a setting to please everyone, but in a way am happy they did not so I dont have to kill someones tC for waking me up late at night

I'm with the "no honk" group....I have had several GM cars that do that and it gets obnoxious if you think you locked and then you go thru the honk unlock, honk lock game. Silence is golden!

Our tCs are just in "stealth" mode. =)

To those with cars that DO honk but they don't like it: A novel idea.

When you get out of the car, lock the car from the power locks INSIDE THE CAR so you don't need to use remote keyless entry to lock the car.

My old Saturn honked when I locked it with the keyless entry, so I got in the habit (and am still in the habit) of locking my car w/ the power locks, but unlocking w/ remote keyless entry.

i like the way my girlfriend's Audi A3 just emits this electronic beep when you lock it up, but it's not too obtrusive that it'll wake anyone up.

Definitely NOT a Honda thing. My Mustang does it.

No, I had a crappy 99 Mazda Protege that honked when it locked, and it didn't have an alarm. I like the honk because some people get confused and think you DO have an alarm. People like insurance company adjusters, who give you a discout for having an alarm. :D

YES, TYPING IN CAPS IS RUDE, BUT IT SEEMS A LOT OF YOU HAVE MISSED AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FEATURE OF YOUR TC:

THE TC AUTO-LOCKS 60 SECONDS AFTER YOU TAKE THE KEY OUT & WALK AWAY. SO EVEN IF YOU FORGET TO HIT LOCK, IT LOCKS ITSELF
