Default why so much time and so many people to deal with...

if scion is a "no haggle pricing" type dealership. I spent about 4 hours to get my deal done last july from test drive to driving the car home. you figured, test drive, buy and go home. it shouldn't take more than an hour to close the deal. i thought maybe because it's a new thing and toyota is still settling down but when my cousins bought their scions a few months ago and it took them just as long if not longer. all the dealers we bought our scions at are all located in california so maybe it's just a california thing? why do we need to deal with the salesman, the "scion specialist", the general manager and the finance manager to complete the deal? 15 minutes with the salesman or who ever took you for the drive and 45 minutes with the finance manager to sign all the paper work should be enough to deal with imho but then i'm not in the business so does it really take that many people to close a deal? just curious, what do you guys think?

the fastest deal i ever had was one and half hours... the longest part was financing

and this was through my buddy who does the sales and financing all by himself...

no bs..just sign and go..and it took that long. I hate dealerships

I picked up my Black Cherry auto tC three days ago, and it took about 2 & 1/2 hours, and I was BSing with my salesman the whole time, lol, I liked the guy. If it weren't for the BSing and my patience, an hour and a half tops if I would've insisted on hurrying (but I didn't as I was getting my first "new" car here). Guess it varies from dealership to dealership and how busy/slow/fast they are.

It took me about 2 hours to finish the deal, part due to waiting for the finance guy to finish up with someone else, but mostly trying to shut the guy up over his begging me to pay more for "options" like extended warranty and tires for life. The sales rep was cool, too bad I had to deal with the finance guy as #2.

If they weren't trying to push extras, it should take about 30 minutes. Printing out the forms, explaining what each is, and signing them doesn't take that long, but good luck finding the perfect closing!

I went in and spent about an hour with the test drive and just checking out the car, the Sales Manager was around and starts mentioning how their going to be hard to get and they already have one on order, I turned around and said, it's ok man don't need to try to sell me today, I'm going to be buying. Me and the sales guy sat down, he had me choose what I wanted on scion.com, print it out, and put it on paper, add in tax and put down a deposit, we settled for $250. Wanted me to fill out papers so they could do a credit pull to make sure I was atleast credit worthy... I said how about I just print you a copy right here so I dont have a hit on my credit before I actually start applying for loans... he said awsome that will save me money on pulling you credit, so I went and printed it. And that was it, took maybe an hour . Now I'm just waiting for my car to come in, unfortunetely he's saying probably mid august for my flint 5-spd.... said that's when their fist allocation comes in.

They never pushed for any options or anything at all, was a very good experience.
