windshield wiper jumping problem
I had my car for a year. Last sept I was diving to Scion exposed @ 6 Flags in Springfield MA.
My Driver side blade began jumping at the bottom. I went and bought new blades hopeing that was the probem ... no. I have used Rain X and thought that that could be in. I use alcohol, wax remover, and adhesive remover. Didn't fix it. I read that maybe it got bent so I checked and checked it is perpendicular and parallel. I have made suttal bends to see if it'll fix it.
Finally I bought the rain x Latitude wiper blades and they seem to work great BUT the problem is still there.
I can't figure it out and it is driving me nuts.
Help?

It only happens at the bottom of the passager wiper blade where the radius of the stroke is the smallest.

Did you ever figure out how to fix this?...same exact thing happening. Anyone else had this problem since this thread was made?
Tried taking off all the Rain-X with Bon Ami, white vinegar, ammonia, alcohol (not all at the same time, the Rain-X was just very hard to cut), putting new rain x on, taking it all off again, tried replacing the blades twice, put Rain-X latitudes and now Anco Contours are on there (which are even better than the Latitudes in my opinion, still skipping/jumping/chattering with the driver side wiper where it is the smallest distance to wipe.
Doesn't matter what speed, or if its pouring, drizzling, or dry with just the wiper fluid. Dealer has no idea and either do I. I am losing my mind with this. I spend a lot of energy and time and it is still there. It is definitely a lot better than it was with the new blades and cleaning the windshield but it is still there. Before it was just horrible now it is just annoying.
It is not the brand of wiper, it does it with every one, so please don't tell me to get the Bosch Icons or PIAA blades, or Michelin Radius b/c that is not going to fix it. I already have bracketless wipers on there.
Thank you everyone. Let me know your similar experiences and solutions if applicable.

The spring that holds the wiper down might also be worn? Ask someone local to you who doesnt have the problem to switch out wiper arms, and see if you still got a problem. If so, it cant be the windshield since you tried all sorts of diff configurations with that, cant be the wiper or arm, so it must have something to do with the motor.

Where did you get the Valeo Ultimate?
My dealership who is usually really good about everything is telling me it is a common issue and that there is nothing they could do about it. I am not buying it. If everybody's tCs wipers were chattering I am sure there would have been a TSB or tons of threads on here complaining about it.
Like I said I cleaned my windshield over and over again. This happens even when it is pouring out. And I went through basically every wiper they make and it still does it no matter what, especially on the driver side (the area closest to the dash on the left side.
Could the wiper arm be bent? It doesn't look it. What could it be? Is there anything you can adjust the wipers with? Any bolts or screws that could be tightened or loosened? These new wipers work a lot better but the chattering is still there.
Should I start my own thread for this or what? I want people to see it and hopefully be able to help me.

Sounds like the wiper arm is a little sloppy which causes it to flex then spring ahead causing the chatter. Make sure the blade flips both ways the same amount so that it wipes going both ways at the same angle to the windshield. If it is too perpendicular to the windshield it will chatter. Usually the problem is that they get parked going down then take a set in that direction and chatter on the way up. But check all the pivot points on the blade to make sure they are tight and that the bolt holding the arm on the motor shaft is also tight so that it doesn't move across the windshield if you move it by hand.
I'm having this same issue as well. I have check every joint between the motor and the blade and there is not any excessive slop. I've tried just about every wiper blade on the planet. I will try cleaning the windshield with alcohol to make sure there isn't anything on there. Very frustrating!
