17x8.5 w/ 245 Toyos. Anyone with better grip?

The winky-smiley he used leads me to think he's kidding. I personally still can't get over the weight. Picked up about 4lbs per corner over stock-- still acceptable, as he's got better than an inch of tire, and an inch of extra wheel width all around. When my setup picked up close to a pound per corner, I said, "Well, what are you gonna do?"

Changed my mind. Get them before I run into a curb and scratch them
I paid $300 plus shipping EACH for these babies 3 days ago. That's about as cheap as you can get them (if you can find them), especially for the "hyperblack" color.

FWIW, I just went to UPS, mine weigh in at 43.62 lbs with T1S's and 6.2mm of tread left.
I am quite disappointed about the weight as well. The sites I found on the Internet put them at 18 - 19 lbs. Either they are just dead wrong, or 5Zigen changed the design.
I may have to modify them and get them powder coated...

Like a slot car. Better entry and midcorner speed than my Supra on Potenza S-03s, by about 6%. Imagine seeing a sign for an off ramp on the freeway that says 40 mph, and taking it at 90 without any issues, or even any significant drifting. That's what it feels like.

Beautiful wheels and about perfect fitment, I thought they were lower in weight also, very supprised! I forgot now but it seems my Enkei RPF1 in 17x8 with 235/40/17 Hankook RS-2s where around 37 lbs, the wheels weight 15.6 lbs so sounds about right, maybe it was 39 with full tread depth, hmmmm, will weigh one again soon to verifiy.

Well, let's just say that the word "handling" has a completely different meaning now.
The car is on TRD springs, wheels fit perfectly - no rubbing anywhere no matter what I do. So highly recommended if you are into driving, not bling.

48 offset on those - no rubbing in any situation. Car is on TRD springs.
I changed them out to 17x8 / 46 offset MB Motorsports Weapon, kept same tires. Still no rubbing. Plan to put 5mm spacers in the back just for the heck of it.
My guess would be - anything less than 42 offset can cause troubles on the front. Rear will live up to 40, maybe even 35 offset with no issues.
