Alignment after lowering springs
i have an 08 tC, and tommorow i am getting my lowering springs put in, i know for a fact that its necessary to get it aligned afterwards, but when i contacted a local alignment shop "Tire Kingdom" they told me that now any '08 vehicle requiring alignment has to be done by the dealer...is this true ???
thats bs i think true or not about having the dealer do it. ive had my springs on for a good while now, and i havent even aligned them. i know i know, but to be honest its not even that bad for some reason. lol. i think it all depends on what kidna drop you are on as well.
yeah i know about tire kingdom, i just wanted a rough estimate..so when i do eventually get it aligned i will go to a well qualified place...and what they told me, about the 08's now have to be aligned by the dealer is this true or are they BS me

i was curious as to why they told me why the 08 tC had to be aligned only by the dealer, so i made a phone call and the reason they told me is that the alignment specs. for the 08's were not available yet..they only had the specs. up to the 07 tC, but i think it should be the same don't you think
OMG -- U get an alignment every time u change suspension geometry. Its not whether the car "pulls" or not. I cant believe how much mis-information gets spread on this forum. Its ur cars do whatever u want but there is a reason why such procedures need to be performed.
Definitely wait a good month so that the new springs have enough time to settle.
I got my alignment done about two months after i installed my trds and from what the computer printout said, the rear tires were off quite a bit. The front ones were off just a little.
Either way, even if the alignment is even a little bit off, it WILL result in uneven and premature tire ware.
Alignment is a must!!!

IMO you shouldn't wait too long, most spring settlement occurs the first couple of days anyway. I had my alignment 3 days after install because I rack up 300 miles a week just getting to/from work & didn't want to take any chances on uneven tire wear even beginning to start. Of course if yours is not a daily driver it's not so critical to align that soon ...
Had mine done at local Tire Kingdom btw and after one year my tires are still wearing evenly. Chose them because they offered a multi-year warranty while all the speed shops in my area wanted more money ($100 a crack) with no warranty.
Also TK had a tech who had experience with lowered cars. That should be your prime criteria, along with a warranty. Ask if they have a tech who has aligned dropped cars before, ask for his name, talk to him if possible, and request that tech be the one to do the alignment on your car.
