Default Breaks are Squishy

Guys and Gals Im sure this is already posted somewhere and im not that much of a car nut but it seems like the breaks on my 06 are a bit on the squishy side was told when i purchased the car that they were with in the limit to be classified as Scion Certified Pre-ownded which means more money for them.

But any ways could i possibly need to bleed the break lines or just check the fluid or???

theres most likely air bubbles. u can try to bleed it out yourself. theres a tut here somewhere very straight forward. but u do need 2 ppl for it.

my breaks are very responsive and smooth not squishy at all. i did nothing to them their 100% OEM. might need to change the pad soon though.

Hey!

Check these threads out!

hope these help, the 2nd thread talks about replacing the brake lines, but it also tells you how to bleed the system.

another part to look into is the bleeder screws themselves. They don't seem to last long. Looks like the threads aren't designed to do multiple bleeds and I've seen where the fluid will leak past the threads. If you are feeling squishy but no obvious signs of brake fluid loss, replace the bleeder valve screws on the calipers and you'll see a more firm brake pedal.

Bleed your brakes.
If you aren't absolutely sure what you are doing, pay a professional. (not necessarily the cheapest guy)
