From my dealer at Longo Scion in El Monte, CA. Im getting a price quote of a total of $315 + alignment to install my TRD springs. now thats a good deal from a dealer. The other local shops are asking over $300 to install near my place.

Should I take this offer, or should I look around more?

If your local dealers are giving you a $300 install price for springs only, you're probably not looking hard enough. You should be paying less than $175 easy for spring installs. I say pass on this. Although it is good for a dealer price, its still pretty bad.

After I called Longo Scion of El mONte again there was another service guy who said it was over $500. I guess the first guy I called before at Longo was on crack saying it was $315. Wat an idiot. The second person I called who quoted $500 was telling the truth because he put me on hold to check the price, not like the other guy I called.

So now I called some local shops and found a quote of $140. The shop is 8 miles away from my home. When speaking to him on the phone this guy was a jerk, I couldnt trust him with my car. He spoke to me rude saying that "who else does it for cheap, I'm just gonna put the springs in and if there's a problem its not my fault". and he's the guy who's going to install them.

So now I found the one shop 1 mile from my house for $180. I can trust them with my car. Also I can ride my bike home. So Longo and that jerk and the other local shops who quoted above $200 can eat my crap and I go with this shop. I also found tire shop for an alignment that is around $20.

Seriously why do dealers have no clue about how much it would cost to install a SCION promoted accessory like springs? So my salesman says they will install it for free... just gotta pay the $199 for the springs. He said he talked to parts and service and they said that they get the prep guys to do it. I'm not sure i want a guy that washes new cars to install my springs... but if its a toyota install and its free... I guess I shouldn't complain. The springs are taking forever to come in... and when they come in is when I will really find out the price. I'll hit you guys up with what happens.

Straight up, if they try to charge you more for the install after stating that it would be free with a spring purchase, then tell them that you will not pay for the install and go elsewhere.
