Default Front sway installation?

hi i hear that to install a front sway bar on the tc (either st, hotchkis or progress) is extremely difficult and that you really need to know suspension work to get it done because of the motor being in the way so here are my questions

1. would it be worth it to get it installed at a shop?
2. has anyone ever done this themselves and has picks or done a write up?
3. is it really worth it? or should i just get the trd rear sway only and call it a day?

thanks

yes it is difficult.
one of the main reasons is the to get the sway bar off you have to drop the rear of the subframe. which holds up the engine/transmission.

most people do support the motor when they put in the swaybar and scare the ____ out of them selves when the motor falls down a couple inches.

if you dont know how to work on cars i would suggest having a shop install it.

^^ I told you it was not gonna be cheap.... So then, I think you should hold on to the bar and put it in with a couple buddies and a twelve pack.....

Is it worth having a front sway? I have a strut bar, and a rear strut bar, and rear sway. Does the front sway bar make a huge difference?

well i was thinking the same thing and thats why i started this thread but what i'm thinking is before i even considered a progress or hotchkis set i was gonna go just trd rear sway and then i saw the ingalls rear strut tower brace and then kept doing research....i thought if i had just trd rear sway and ingalls then the back of my car would stick like crazy but my front would just loose control it just wouldn't make up for it considering i only having a greddy front strut....so idk what to do need more replies

The front/rear kit is worth it for sure. This lets the front get better traction as well as the rear. It is a full tightening of the handling whereas the rear is just that, rear only.

The front is not AS bad as people make it out to be. Yes, there is a lot that is involved in it though. Dropping the subframe will be a pain and you will need to watch out for the engine (block of wood or two will help). It is all bolts though, nothing that needs calibration or anything.

Well, for the tC, no. My friend was able to do front on his WRX by himself. It also entailed dropping the subframe. He was able to get it done in a day and he does not have too much car knowledge, though, enough for him and I to brainstorm and install basically install anything.

It takes me about an 1.5 to 2 hours to do the install. Its not that hard to do...just have to be careful and make sure that everything lines back up correctly....
