Getting wheels, got questions! Pls!

I'm deciding to get 18"/19" wheels! I'm noob, so need advices!

Is the 5-lugs all I need to care for choosing wheels for my car?
Whats offset? anything important to do with wheels I choose?

5x100 lug pattern
everything else, im not too good at explaining so ill let some else do that.

stick with 18's
