Uh, thats a tuffy. I think it would be easier if you got it on video with sound so we could hear it. But my first guess would be a possible cracked brake pad. Im not an expert... so that it for what it's worth, but that's what I would guess if you gave no more information.

How old is your car?
How old are the brakes?

sounds like the brake-dust shield(s) are hitting the rotor, I would take the wheel off, unbolt the single bolt on the back-top of the caliper and flip it upwards and check the brake pads too. it might be that the brake pads were very worn as it is but the piston wasn't fully depressed, and the emergency braking is pushing the near-dead pads against the rotor.

How many miles are on your TC and on those pads? BTW, your girl's cute, "Maybe you have a flat tire, or your tire is rubbing against...the thing"

Damn if it does not sound like the brake pad has become burned or uneven . I am betting the pads need replacing . Either the pad is warped ( most likely ) or the rotor warped ( possible )

the clicking very well could have been the loose lugs. that is a common sign.
