Default Jacking up car to install springs?

Hey everyone,

Tick, tock, tick, tock... Waiting for my TRD springs and sway bar...

I looked through about two pages on the corner carver forum, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

When I go to jack my car up, where is the best place to lift the car from using a standard jack from the roadside jack supplied with the tc? I am by no means a suspension expert, but I have an idea that jacking it from the axle wouldn't be smart since that would keep the suspension assembly tense as if the tires were on the ground... So, this question applies to both the front and rear of the vehicle. I also understand that BOTH tires need to be off the ground when going the front, and the same for the rear. Is that correct?

Also, I plan to use jackstands, for you safety-conscious mothers out there

Thanks in advance...

do not use the jack supplied with the car.

use at least a 2ton hydraulic jack at the jack points near the side skirts. there are 2 on each side. on the sideskirts, there are indented arrow pointings to where the jackpoint is.

put the jackstands either there at each opposing jack points or at the steel frame on the bottom of the car.

I lift the car in the front under the forward engine mount. There's a piece bolted on the cross-member with a bump on it. I just center my floor jack on that and lift. That way I can use the factory jack points for my jackstands.

In the back there is a metal rod shaped in a loop underneath the rear suspension. The loop is there for a jack point. So, do the fronts first, put the jackstands in place, then do the back and put the jackstands in place and you'll have the whole car in the air at once in a very stable position. You'll be able to open doors, hatch, hood, get in, test clutch and brakes; all the stuff you need to do without any issues.
