lowered on stock shox?? how long have they lasted?
Just a quick question regarding spring installations. Im getting springs this weekend and I wanted to know how many of you that have been lowered on stock shocks have lasted. I have heard people last up to 50k, but I just wanna make sure. When I say springs, I mean anything other than TRD’s. im getting the tein H-techs so I wanna make sure that it will last for a while, at least 20,000 miles. Thanks in advance
as long as you want.
my shocks are fading on my S.techs but i had my S.techs for 45k SUPER HARD DRIVEN miles
the ride comfort is still comfortable but the performance is weak.
if your tinkin about shocks. do not get TRD. IMO are not good enough, get the koni's

do you plan on getting springs then getting shocks later on? If so how later?
I have Hotchkis springs which are not as much as s-tech's but still a good drop! I have stock shocks since oct. 05. The ride is ok, but i cant wait to get coilovers. Your shocks wont blow right away! Not sure on how long they last but the sooner the better! TX has some bad roads!
I just want a comfortable ride! Hopefully the right coilovers will do that!

With h techs, you'll last plenty long. I've seen people with s techs and hotchkis go 50k+ miles. I just put in the gold line 2" drop and I'm not plannin on swapping springs for about 30-40k. Figure I'll beat the crap out of the stock springs before I throw money into replacements.
wait...so im thinking about springs and im thinkging the TRD ones..so will it be fine if i just keep my stock shocks ?bc i can not offered any coilovers right now...i just want the slight drop though bc im most likly grabbing a lip kit soon..thanks

Ive seen stock shocks go on other cars at 60,000 not lowered...Im rockin s techs right now and I didnt really notice any difference in ride quality at all. Your eventually gonna hafta replace the shocks and struts regardless if your lowered or not so why not just throw springs in if you dont feel the need to have coilovers...Im willing to bet that almost half the people on here rocking coilovers wont ever adjust them for the life that they are on the car...once you find the right setting then there is no need to.
