Default Lowering springs ride comparison?

hello,

as ive spent a good while reading and looking through allll the lowering threads, it seems there is a lack of feedback on the ride.

i am looking to lower a 07 tc, but dont want to trash the ride. i have had many lowered cars, and after a while the good looks is easily surpassed by the terrible ride.

that being said, i think the Hotchkis suspension is the look im aiming for, but, dont want to turn it into a lowered civic type ride.

how would you compare the ride to stock? stiffer (thats ok) bumpier? bottoms out?

also, does the Hotchkis come with new bump stops to make up for the lost travel? it appears everyone is happy with the ride of the TRD, but not so much the looks. anyone that can comment on the difference of ride between the two?

thanks in advance,

jon

the hotchkis are a great ride, beautiful stance and looks awsome. However, you said this car is for your girl? Does she want to drive a car that low and has she before? You cant take those driveways lightly anymore. Other than that, Get em.

Tein H Techs are a good drop...a little under 2", and ride wonderfully. No bottoming out, rarely scraping, stiff enough for corners, but soft enough for the cruise...check out my profile for pics with the H Techs on

I have the TRD struts/shocks/springs and rear sway bar. The handling and the ride is great. I have had no instances of scraping and its nice to not have to worry about warranty issues. If you do decide on just springs, I definetly recommend changing out the struts/shocks for aftermarket ones because the stock ones generally arent designed for lowering springs. Not to say you cant do it that way and there are alot of people that are lowered on stock struts/shocks but the handling and ride of the car will benefit much more from improved struts/shocks.

I'll agree on that. I've got the TRD springs with stock struts and feel the ride sux, likely because there's inadequate damping of the spring motion with the stock struts. If you go TRD springs, it'd be a good idea to spend more and get the TRD struts as well.

I have the H&R's and TRD struts and have had no harshness in ride untill I put 18's on but that is to be expected...
