Default My Brake Pads give off a Burnt Smell!

So I purchased the StopTech Stage 1 kit from Assaultech about a month ago. I installed the Axxis pads that came with em. Two weeks later, it started giving off a burning smell. There's only one way these things go on, so what in the heck is going on?

I did a little experiment and even with light to moderate braking, the burning smell persisted. Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to lose my braking and end up in a ditch or inside a minivan with people inside of it.

Use any brake cleaner when you installed them? paint your calipers? how many miles have you driven? Also are they the axxis ULT pads? If so they are a ceramic pad so they will dust a fair bit more than OE pads and they will have a slight smell to them always, shouldnt be a burning smell tho, should just be a generally hot smell. Im thinking youre just smelling the bredding coating and machining oil on the rotors burning off.

My Axxis ult did the same thing for about a month after I installed them. I tried braking in like the box said and they still had that burning smell after driving. They have worked fine ever since.

Its actually a mix of burning and hot smell. There is no pedal feel really. Just the smell, even after five minutes after driving using moderate braking.

As long as the pedal feel is still there then its all good. Theres nothing that will really catch on fire down there, its just the good old smell of some new ceramic pads. Just give them time to finish breaking in, nothing really to worry about. Now if you start to feel pedal inconsistency or softness, then weve got an issue.

I still need to bleed em and replace the rubber lines, but hopefully everything is okay. Thanks.
