Default EBC Redstuff - tons of dust...

I just put on my r1concepts rotors (slotted) and my EBC redstuff pads. There pretty darn dusty so far and it's a total pain. To be fair, I've only got about 80 miles on them, so I'm hoping this will only last during the bed in.

I was wondering if it might be because of the new rotors. Maybe the fresh slots are cutting into the pad more?

Input fellas?

Yep that brake dust ain't going away any time soon. Usually when you buy a performance brake pad your going to deal with sqeeks and brake dust. I like Hawk brake pads a lot and would never use EBC. Sorry about your luck....

The pads are dusty, as are all "performance" brake pads compared to OEM. However, having owned lots of aftermarket brake pads in my life, the EBC Redstuff's brake dust is less than most others like Axxis and Hawk HP, and easier to clean up. I've been running EBC USR slotted rotors and EBC Redstuff pads for quite awhile now on my xA with better results than most other setup's I've had on previous cars.

The USR slotted rotors operate smoother and are a lot quieter than other slotted rotors I've had, and as I said the Redstuff pads dust is just as annoying as other performance pads, but it is easier to clean off the wheels (from what I've experienced).
If you don't like the dust, go back to OEM pads, any performance pads you get will generate more dust.

I had EBC pads before and removed them in less than a month. They worked fine, but my front rims would be black after driving one day!!

The stock brake pads get a bad rep because they are 'stock'. They are actually great.
I use Akebono pads. They come as 'slotted' brake pads to allow the escape of heat and gasses (just like slotted rotors), but with a single separation down the center of the pad plate. They work very well, last a long time, and give off almost no visible dust at all.
