I would strongly suggest getting new struts as well if you drive the car alot. The stiffer spring rate will wear out the oem struts faster, and you will eventually need to change them down the road. Putting new struts and springs at the same time is no more invloved than doing the springs alone. As far as options, you're kinda limited since I think the cheapest struts out there are trd, and they aren't really cheap at all. I think a better overall plan in the long run would be to go with either the tein basic or tanabe sustec s-oc type II coilovers. Either can be had for right around 800, which really is not much more than springs+ trd struts. But if money is an issue right now, you can always just do the springs for now, and get the struts down the road. Only thing is you have to install/pay for the install again when that time comes.

Your stock shocks will be just fine for a year or so. They will wear out faster though so put aside a small fund. I would also suggest the H-techs. I love mine and the drop is perfect. Your stock shocks would definately be fine then.

Take a look at the Progress springs as well. Not a bad price and a perfect drop. 1.8'' all around.
