Default replacements for s-tech's?

Hola,
I currently have tein s-techs but after a drive to chicago today, I'm thinking of buying something to replace them. Or do you think replacing struts could damp big bumps better? I have 50k on my '05.

Want:
- something that won't let me hit the bumpstops. They're cut in half already and my bruised kidneys say I'm bottoming out.
- progressive spring rate would be nice. soft on little bumps and stiff to keep off the bump stops.
- comfortable.
- Not too pricey, I'm not dropping $800+ on a car i don't track.
- flatter cornering would be nice, but I usually drive pretty chill so its not a requirement.

Ideas? Springs or shocks?

huh, could've sworn i posted this:

Do the TRD struts have the perch at the same height as the stock ones? I'm occasionally rubbing as is, and can't afford to get any extra 'accidental' drop.

I just replaced my s techs and stock shock combo for some raceland coilovers. It rides so much smoother, i love it.

After reading around a bit more, i'm thinking TRD's (like recommended above) or Tokico's.

I liked the Tokico's I had on my old civic, but I didn't like that one of them blew in 3 months. But hey, the replacement lasted 3+ years until I sold it off so no complaints.

Thanks for the suggestions!

i went with tokico's and tanabe df210s. no complaints so far, except occasional rubbing on big bumps at certain angles. the tokico's feel a lot nicer than stock struts over bumps.
