Default S tech installation question

I just installed the front s techs this morning but ran out of time before work to do the rears, but I have a quick question. The top hat parts on each strut are circular, but shaped very oddly and I wasn't sure exactly how they are supposed to line up when putting the strut back together. Can someone tell me how they are supposed to go, as far and how that are rotated on top of the spring? Or if it even matters?

Thanks,
Matt

If they weren't lined up correctly, you would not have been able to install them.

i put a wrench in the groove thing, then put then nut on top of the wrench, then tightened up the nut, then wiggled the wrench out, worked great

Okay I got that part, but now I really need help. The strut bar inside is spinning while I'm trying to remove the top nut. What can I do?
